However full the battery is, you can always keep a clear head. If you drive a new smart EQ fortwo or forfour, you automatically have access to the smart EQ control app¹,². This enables you to call up important information about all aspects of your smart at any time and provides you with a simple means of controlling many vehicle functions via your smartphone.

Retrieving information on the vehicle’s status. Charge level of the high- voltage battery, current range or the efficiency of your driving style: all key information is available to you any time, anywhere.

Monitoring and controlling the charging process. From remaining charge time to charging capa city: keep tabs on the charging process, too. This is also where you go to activate smart charging³, for example, in order to benefit from cheaper night-time electricity tariffs.

Controlling vehicle functions. Here you can start pre- entry climate control³ for your smart as and when you wish, for example, and get your vehicle fully prepared for your journey before you move off.

All smarts registered in the UK on or after 01/11/2014 will benefit from smart road assistance for three years. After this, your smart road assistance will be automatically renewed for a year every time your smart goes in for an official smart service for up to 30 years.

All road vehicle registrations are subject to Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Fund Licence), which varies in accordance with the vehicle’s CO₂ emissions. A first year rate for each taxation band will apply. The table below shows the bands (A–M) created by the DVLA and the corresponding Road Fund Licence.
