HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear Parents and Friends, There is so much to learn Rebbe; all the Sefarim in the library. These words are part of a song that one of my sons sang at his kindergarten graduaon thirty-nine years ago! The song became a classic children’s song, but the message is fresh and con- temporary. There are so many exquisite lessons to be learned from the Torah and so many sefarim from which to glean these lessons. Once you get a taste of the sweetness of Torah, the craving for more is insaa- ble. The wellsprings of Torah waters are never-ending, and as long as one is Torah-thirsty, the waters will be there. The thirst will never be totally quenched, and we don’t want it to be. Everyone who aended or parcipated in the recent Siyum HaShas is sll feeling the excitement and the awe. Anyone who has heard descripons of this exhilarang event feels a visceral reacon of joy. Compleng all the Tractates of the Talmud is an ac- complishment of mammoth proporon. I personally know people who have completed Shas several mes, and I know others for whom it took almost two de- cades. That is the beauty of learning Torah. There is no me limit; there is no expiraon date, and no one is denied the giſt of learning. This is why I believe that the celebraon must go beyond the “Siyum HaShas”. Every me a child com- pletes a Parsha in the Chumash with his/her class, there is undeniable simcha. It is an accomplishment that can be achieved by a six-year-old as well as a 96- year- old. I would like to invite everyone to a Politz Hebrew Academy Siyum. Whether it is the kindergarten cel- ebrang the compleon of learning Aleph-Beis or the eighth grade making a Siyum m on a Mesechta in Gemara, the joy is of equal proporon. Can that be said of any other accomplishment? I cannot think of any other example. There is another cause for celebraon – the type of celebraon that has literally brought tears to the eyes of everyone present. I have been one of those people. "Witnessing a special needs child defy all the odds in learning Torah and prove to everyone that s/ he indeed can master Torah concepts, has brought tears to my eyes. Not just once, but many mes. Every me I observe a child with a reading disabil- ity daven with the class tears want to spill over. I have seen mothers and fathers cry tears of joy when their diagnosed child received his/her first Chumash. There is nothing sweeter than hearing a child with a severe learning disability point to his Rebbe and say, "There's my Rebbe. He teaches me Parsha". You see, my dear parents and friends, I applaud all those who honor and learn the Torah glorifying Hash- em’s name. I share in the Simcha of 95,000 (approx- imately) people rejoicing at the Met Stadium. I truly do. But, I want you to share in the simcha of over 400 children of all ages, stages and different abilies learn- ing Torah every day at Politz Hebrew Academy. Whether it is making a Siyum on Shas or a Siyum on learning the Aleph-Beis, there is cause for rejoic- ing. Yes, there are so many Sefarim in the library. May we all have the merit to watch our children learn from each one!

Good Shabbos.

Head of ScHool

Dear Parents and Friends,

There is so much to learn Rebbe; all the Sefarim in the library. These words are part of a song that one of my sons sang at his kindergarten graduation thirty-nine years ago! The song became a classic children’s song, but the message is fresh and con-temporary. There are so many exquisite lessons to be learned from the Torah and so many sefarim from which to glean these lessons. Once you get a taste of the sweetness of Torah, the craving for more is insatia-ble. The wellsprings of Torah waters are never-ending, and as long as one is Torah-thirsty, the waters will be there. The thirst will never be totally quenched, and we don’t want it to be.

Everyone who attended or participated in the recent Siyum HaShas is still feeling the excitement and the awe. Anyone who has heard descriptions of this exhilarating event feels a visceral reaction of joy. Completing all the Tractates of the Talmud is an ac-complishment of mammoth proportion. I personally know people who have completed Shas several times, and I know others for whom it took almost two de-cades. That is the beauty of learning Torah. There is no time limit; there is no expiration date, and no one is denied the gift of learning.

This is why I believe that the celebration must go beyond the “Siyum HaShas”. Every time a child com-pletes a Parsha in the Chumash with his/her class, there is undeniable simcha. It is an accomplishment that can be achieved by a six-year-old as well as a 96- year- old.

I would like to invite everyone to a Politz Hebrew Academy Siyum. Whether it is the kindergarten cel-ebrating the completion of learning Aleph-Beis or the eighth grade making a Siyum m on a Mesechta in

Gemara, the joy is of equal proportion. Can that be said of any other accomplishment? I cannot think of any other example.

There is another cause for celebration – the type of celebration that has literally brought tears to the eyes of everyone present. I have been one of those people. "Witnessing a special needs child defy all the odds in learning Torah and prove to everyone that s/he indeed can master Torah concepts, has brought tears to my eyes. Not just once, but many times. Third Grade Girls started learn-ing the Tefilo of Shmoneh Esrai last week! We started with a Journey to the KING's Palace and walked to the GAC where

there were purple iced cupcakes topped with a gold crown , awaiting us! How lucky we are to have reached this point of our davening where we stand before Hakodosh Boruch Hu and say this special Tefilo . We are now learn-ing the meanings of the words of Shmoneh Esrai and working on a beautiful scrapbook depicting each one of the 19 Brochos!Thank you parents for your beautiful Brochos!
