Naya Pakistan?: PTI MNA calls for Mumtaz Qadri'srelease

Mujahid Ali Khan made the demand during a debate on the budget in the National Assembly.

A Pakistan Teh reek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA call ed for t he release of Mali k Mumta z Qadri,

the man who gunned down Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer in 2011.

PTI MNA from Mardan, Mujahid Ali Khan m ade the demand during a debate on t he budget in th e NationalAssembly .

Khan h ad won the NA-11 seat in th e May 1 1 elections.

Extrem ism and r adicalism hav e penetrated our society deeply , h e had said, adding t hat it is especially

harm ful for th e y outh.

Qadri nev er arg ued that h e had not killed Taseer shortly after he shot him dead, Qadri said his motiv e wasTaseers apparent opposition t o the count ry s blasphemy law. But if th e mu rder wa snt shocking enough , it was

the strin gent defence put up by religious parties, wh ose activ ists showered rose petals on Qadri at his cour t

hearing , brought him flowers on V alentines Day and set up Facebook pages glorify ing him .
