2005

• BCARC is born – as a non-profit Health & Safety Association (HSA)

2006 • BCARC applies for interim funding to study accident causation

2007 • Long-term funding plan is agreed with WSBC • Base Rate levy begins to show early improvement thru 2006/07

2008• Exec Director appointed (Oct.); brings ‘independent’ mgmt.

2009• Tech. Advisory Committee (“TAC”) created• CCOHS selected as our e-training partner• Island and Northern reps elected to BCARC Board

2010• CCOHS & BCARC provided > 1,000 safety courses through 2010 • BC Interior joins BCARC Board – now all regions represented

2011• www.bcarc.ca website launched – a continual work-in-progress • TAC develops Site Safety Assessment (“SSA”) program – the true

cornerstone of all BCARC training

2012 • BCARC adds new programs - Bio-Hazards, Sewage Discharge• BCARC speaks to American Industrial Hygienists AGM – “SSA” program • CCOHS safety course usage approaching 3,000 mark• Industry Base Rate levy improves...to lowest level in a decade

2013• BCARC speaks at BC Construction Safety Conference – our “SSA”

program • BCARC Board runs BCARC “like a business” – strong planning,

budgeting• safety education flourishes – 5,000 CCOHS / BCARC safety course have

been taken by 2013

2014• Board pre-funds another 2,000 safety courses for our workers • BCARC is a maturing industry safety association• Base Rate levy shows slight uptick, for first time since BCARC

Plans

2015• BCARC/WSBC relationship continues to grow steadily, with some few

differing views• Base Rate levy – improvement returns for 2015, after a dip in 2014

2016• Business Plans and Budgets completed• Funding request to WSBC submitted• new Exec Dir appointment search underway

2014 • ended last year with a small deficit of $6,658 (first

time deficit)• Deficit is funded from our reserves

2015• Current bank balance is $ 111,738.48 (as at Oct 15,

2015) • A year end surplus is projected • BCARC is in sound financial shape
