Game Talk:
Last Time Out
“It’s a battle. Injuries and
suspensions deifnitely hurt
us Wednesday, but we will
have some of those guys
back tomorrow and will be
ready for Saturday against
Bethlehem.”
— Head Coach David Brandt
“We’re [looking to play]
a little more compact
and tight together and
not allow them to break
us down as easily. We
need to step up as a
team rather than get
split. Mainly, regroup,
stay tight, and stay
together. ”
— Defender Marshall Hollingsworth
Game Notes:
Team Rosters:
Pittsburgh: Bethlehem:
· The Riverhounds (3-14-4) return home to face Bethlehem Steel FC (6-8-8) in the second of three head-to-head match-ups between the two clubs this season. In their first meeting on the road, the Hounds surrendered two goals en route to being shutout 2-0. The clubs will again face each other in Bethlehem on Sunday, September 18 – the penultimate contest of the regular season for Pittsburgh.
· Currently enduring a four-game slide at Highmark Stadium the longest such streak over the past three seasons – the Hounds will look to win at home for the first time since a 2-1 victory over FC Montreal on June 18. Pittsburgh has been outscored 9-to-2 during the slide, holding a lead only once.

· With 26 points on the season, Bethlehem is currently five points out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Steel have scuffled as of late, going winless in their past four, and will play their first match on the road since the start of July in Toronto. While their 25 total goals scored this year are only four better than the Hounds at 21, the Steel have had the better go of it on the defensive end, allowing 28 goals to Pittsburgh’s 38.
· Corey Hertzog continues to provide a bright spot for the Hounds on the offensive side, tallying a goal in a third-straight match earlier this week against FC Montreal. The forward has scored his team-leading eight goals in bunches, also tallying in five-straight in the month of June. With nine matches remaining in the season, Hertzog has already tied forward José Angulo for third-most goals scored by a Hounds player in a single season since 2014, and now trails only Kevin Kerr and Rob Vincent, who scored 10 and 18 goals, respectively, during the 2015 season.
