+What is an Internship?
“Any official or formal program to provide practical experience for beginners in an occupation or profession.” — Random House Dictionary
“An internship is an opportunity offered by an employer to potential employees, called "interns", to work at a firm for a fixed, limited period of time. Interns are usually undergraduates or students…” — WikiJob
+Why Would You Want or Need An Internship?
Internships provide on-the-job training in a field you’re interested in and open doors to future jobs and even careers.
Many employers use internships as a way to train and evaluate future employees.
A 2009 NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) survey of U.S. employers with interns found that 67% of interns were given job offers after their internships were complete.
Internships are a risk-free way to “try on” a career.
+What Types of Internships Are There?
