Cutting speeds• There is no correct
cutting speed for any particular material.
• When deciding on cutting speeds there are many variables to take into account.
• Peripheral speeds are generally determined
by the harder the material the slower the speed
• There are many variables-
• Age and condition of machine
• The material to be machined
• The material of the cutter
• Degree of finish required
• Skill of the operator• Whether coolant is
used
