What are the Consequences of Global Warming? Global Warming causes the rise of the Earth’s water

level. The temperatures will rise. It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapour, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. Although the greenhouse effect makes the earth able to have people living on it, if there gets to be too many gases, the earth can get unusually warmer, and many plants, animals, and people will die.

Plants, people and animals will die. This will affect the food chain.

How does human activity add to the Greenhouse Effect? In this technology driven world, humans

are using more electricity and increasing emissions. These emissions add to the greenhouse effect. Cars give out CFC gases (Carbo Fluoro Carbon)adds to the effect. Consuming less electricity and harmful fumes and gases can help to reduce and even stop the problem.

What have scientists found from studying ice cores in Antarctica?

Scientists have been studying ice cores in Antarctica and have found volcanic eruptions and solar activity. Recent analysis has showed that in the passed 700 years there have been over one dozen volcanic eruptions and in the past 112 years there have been 17 signs of solar events.

Major volcanic eruptions eject large quantities of dust and fine aerosols into the atmosphere. Some of the aerosols find their way into the stratosphere where they can persist for several years. The aerosols can effect the climate by reducing the amount of sunlight received by the sun.

Solar activity detected by the DSS have shown nitrate increase and solar outbursts called proton events. Nitrate is one of the poorly comprehended and known major atmospheric chemicals.

Nitrate- a salt or ester of nitric acid known as N03

What is a solar proton event you ask? A solar proton event occurs when protons emitted by the sun become

accelerated. They result in the ionisation of the ionosphere and changes in the Earth’s magnetic field.

RISING SEA LEVELS Rising sea levels are caused by the greenhouse

effect. Harmful gases, fossil fuels and the conduction of electricity can add to the effect.

The ozone layer is damaged allowing harmful rays from the sun to enter the Earth’s atmosphere. Temperatures are rising and ice is melting. If Antarctica were to melt sea levels would rise by 60-65m! The world will run out of resources, shelter and hence everyone will die!
