Generic Conventions of a Web page

Most artists often use web pages because they can interact more with their fans. Generic conventions are literally the ingredients of a web page. Some examples of these can be:

The URL The Navigation bar The Multimedia content

What makes them successful?• Web pages are often very easy to set up as well very cheap

to make. Web pages often let the artist communicate and interact with a global audience. They can use cross media promotion, which are basically following the style of something. For example, when Rihanna used the colour pink for everything such as her album cover, clothes, hair, etc. There are often opportunities for synergy on web pages. These are other companies that are allowed to be interacted with, by the artist’s target audience. Some examples of these are Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. On a web page, you can stream and/or download music from the site, a bit like Sound Cloud. Web pages are the most common form used by a young audience ranging from ages 12 to 25 years of age.

My chosen artist is Eminem

This is the login where you would be able to access your account which would entitle you to special features such as competitions.

This is the main image. This represents that the artist is the most important person on the webpage and also that you know who they are.

Everything within the webpage is known as the content. This includes everything you want to know about your chosen artist.

This section is known as multimedia content. This shows you what videos can be shown within the webpage.

This technique is known as synergy. This can be shown as icons showing you how to access the artists page on every website there is. For example, MySpace & FaceBook.

This is known as the logo. It shows the logo of the artist as well as the typography of how it is.

This bar is known as the navigation bar. If you click on any of the tabs, you would be directed to the page that you clicked on. For example, EVENTS.

song writer and an actor.• He was born on October 17th 1972 in Saint

Joseph, Missouri, USA.• Eminem owns his own record label which is

called Shady Records.

because he is one of the greatest ever rappers in history.• This images shows us that he is a powerful man due to him widening his

arms out towards the people below.

Primary target audience

• Eminem's primary target audience are aged from 13 to 18 males which hobbies & interests include listening and enjoy rap music.

Secondary target audience

• Eminem's secondary target audience are aged from 13 to 19 females which hobbies & interests include listening to and enjoy rap music.
