Was the MAC address of the suspended device found? Does the connection between an active component at the

specified slot/port and the suspended terminal match?

Update of the data in FNT CommandThis list can now be processed manually by the user identifying the individual entry to then perform the required adaptations in FNT Command.

Cisco Prime is used as a network management tool for the operation and for the monitoring of the company live network. In this case, data is exported from Cisco Prime and compared with the current data in FNT Command. Therefore, the Cisco Prime database logs in the network accessible components and their connections with each other. From Cisco Prime, a data export will be generated in an agreed format.

Data transfer to FNT CommandThe live data provided by Cisco Prime is compared with the data documented in FNT Command and checked according to:

Active component Slot/port Suspended device (last device in a connection chain)

Further processingAs a result of the data import,a log will be output that provides the following information:

Was an active componenfound based on the IP address? Was the slot/port found on the active component?

Automatic device relocationIf the connection between the active component on the slot or port does not match the suspended terminal, the connection to the incorrectly wired terminal will be deleted automatically. At the same time, a new connection to the terminal listed with theMAC address in Cisco Prime will be created. If this terminal is present at a different location, this device will be moved to the zone in which the data socket is located.

During the relocation and the rewiring, a log file that contains the following information will be written:

Which devices have been relocated? What was the old location and what is the new location?

Individual CustomizationsThe format of the Cisco Prime file can be agreed customer-specific. The error messages in the error log can also be customized.

System requirementsInstalled Cisco Prime, installed FNT Command including the modules C base and C line as well as infrastructure assets documented in FNT Command C line.
