Letter from the Principal
Asalamu Alaykum
Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,
We have successfully completed the 2nd Quarter. Alhamdulillah, we are very proud of all our
students. Communication is a key factor to your child’s progress and success. We encourage all
parents to reach out to their children’s teachers to discuss their report cards. We always encourage
parents to reach out to the school with any questions or concerns. Also, congratulations to the
winners of our Arabic Spelling Bee! Anas Fadhel, Monsura Uddin, and Ammar Siddiqui job well done!
Also, good job to all of our contestants we’re very proud of you all. Coming up on February 10th, is
our 6th Annual Fundraising Dinner where the ARA family come together to enjoy, celebrate and
recognize our student’s accomplishments while enjoying a halal meal and listening to a motivational
Islamic speaker. We encourage all our students, parents and community members to attend. We
have sent order forms home with your children, please help your children sell tickets to support their
school. As always, please be sure to help your children study the material provided by their teachers.
Also, we encourage you to follow up with your children regarding their homework and Quran. Please
make sure to always check your children’s bookbags and folders for any important notices from the
school. Be sure to visit our website for updates or information. Also check the school calendar for any
upcoming events such as the Arabic spelling bee, science fair and khutbah competition. Please feel

Assalamualaikum Parents,
Alhamdulilah! Thanks to the parents who have helped us to make our dismissal policy
safer. We were able to achieve our goal through your support and cooperation.
It brings me immense pleasure to see our young ladies learning through fun. I mean our
science and ELA clubs. Girls meet every Tuesday and Thursday after school, and go to
an adventurous journey in the world of Literacy and Science.
The introduction of notice board by grade 8 students was a wonderful idea where our
students share information, their ideas, art work, articles about our Islam and even
delicious recipes. Each month different class gets turn to share and express themselves
using this notice board. This month is Grade 6 who are going to share their thoughts
and ideas with the rest of their friends.
To enhance the importance of healthy week students from grade 8 had healthy breakfast
with their teacher. Also grade 5 students shared a healthy lunch with their Ustadha. The
activity was fun filled and importance was laid on benefits of healthy eating.
Month of February is full of learning through fun and excitement. Insha Allah, as we
step in the month we will have Arabic spelling Bee on February 1st. Grade 7 & 8 girls
will be going on a trip to Buffalo central library on February 2nd. A wonderful way of
exposing them to texts of different genre and by different authors. On February 8th girls
will be taking part in the school science fair, a day of excitement!!!!!
Window to the world opens through the path of books. Let’s open this window for our
children by getting our girl’s school library started. Please donate $5 for this noble
cause. You can donate even more if you want to. Jazakallah Khair for helping us in this
great cause.
Wow!!! Then comes the break time from February 19th to February 23rd. Relax, Enjoy
and have fun.
As Salamu Alaykum
Parents and Students!
The second quarter was a very successful one, Masha ‘Allah! In 5th and 6th Grade, we had a
technology project in which we built bridges out of various composite materials and tested how
much tension can handle. Some of them will be on display during our annual school fundraiser, insha'Allah! We also created our own Imprint
Fossils; in 2nd grade using earth clay.
Lastly, we welcome a new student into our class for the second half of the school year. Welcome
Ilyas!

Message from the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund
Giving Parents a Choice. Giving Children a Chance.
Happy New Year!!! As we welcome 2018 we are accepting Pre-Applications for funding
for the 2018-2019 school year. Families should apply on-line through our web-site
at http://bisonfund.com/our-scholarships The Pre-Application will only be available
electronically again this year. The Pre-Application is only for families new to
BISON. Our deadline is February 28, 2018.
Current families will be e-mailed a link to complete the requalification process starting
on February 15, 2018. The families will log into the scholarship database and upload
their financial information. As a reminder the deadline for that paperwork is April 13,
2018.
A new updated BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund poster was mailed to all the
schools a few weeks ago. I encourage you to display this information on your school
bulletin board. The highest scholarship amount for 2018-2019 will be $2,100 per child. I
would also encourage you to have families review the new income guidelines. We
have increased them quite a bit this year so more families are eligible to apply. The
Pre-Application along with the BISON FAQ’s are great marketing tools for the open
house season. Thank you for sharing this important information with your families. All
the best in the New Year!!
