the amc 1800 is a programmable multi-channel gas monitor. combined with armstrong’s wide selection of gas sensor/transmitters, it provides an economical and powerful gas monitoring system. standard features include powerful programming capabilities, a digital display, up to 32* sensor/transmitter inputs, and internal audible alarm.powerful programming capabilities allow the end-user maximum flexibility. the unit can be programmed with up to three levels of ascending or descending alarm concentration threshold modes. engineering units and gas labels are selectable from an internal memory library including ppm (parts per million), ppb (parts per billion), %lel (lower explosive limit), %vol. for gas monitoring applications requiring a large number of sensors, installation costs represent a significant share of total project expenses. in an effort to lower these costs, amc developed the amc 1220 series multi drop gas sensor module. compatible with the amc 1022d series, sensors can be wired in series utilizing low power, three wire cabling. dual wiring inputs combined with multi zone capabilities, permit an unlimited range of configurations, thereby minimizing both installation time and materials.up to eight amc 1220s of different sensor types can be connected to a single 1022d zone with a maximum of 150ft between sensors and panel. power supplies can be upgraded allowing more sensors per zone. local indications for low and high alarm, as well as, power and sensor failure make the amc 1220 an economical solution to your gas monitoring needs.

cOMFORT ZONE TEcHNOlOGy:diesel exhaust has historically been very difficult to monitor. due to the wide variety of pollutants, including carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, sulfur compounds, as well as carcinogenic particulates, it is impractical to attempt to monitor for all possible toxins. carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon dioxide have been historically used as general indicators of air quality in these applications. because of the widely varying composition of diesel exhaust, this method has resulted in inconsistent ventilation control as well as worker discomfort and complaints.by applying a combination of carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide sensing, with an interactive logic function, an effective solution can be provided cost effectively for diesel as well as varied fuel facilities. simple user adjustment allows subjective sensitivity adjustment for control of air quality issues.in using this logic, increased sensitivity is engaged only when trace nitrogen dioxide levels are present, indicating the presence of diesel vehicles. this acts as an effective energy saving feature, active only with diesel exhaust.

the armstrong monitoring corporation’s dtr transmitter is a truly “state of the art” device. it accepts low power sensors and functions in a two wire 4-20 ma “sink” mode, or provides excitation for higher power consuming sensors in a three wire 4-20 ma “source” mode. inputs include electrochemical toxic/o2 sensors, catalytic lel sensors, resistive bridge sensors and many other voltage and current input sources.a dual transmitter mode allows one electrochemical sensor and one lel sensor into the same dtr. sensor data is scaled into the appropriate engineering units and displayed numerically, or graphically as bar-graphs and trends, on a backlit graphic lcd.a “smart sensor” 12c interface allows a tiny memory chip in the sensor head to provide the dtr with parameters such as calibration, range, engineering units and important dates. a real time clock and calendar allow logging events such as alarms and calibrations. calibration offset and gain factors may be viewed and are useful for predicting sensor “end of life” conditions.traditional “simple sensors” without integrated data storage are also easily accepted. operator interface is via a menu driven magnetic keypad allowing complete control of the system without opening the enclosure. there are no potentiometers and all adjustments are performed through the keypad.dtr options include 5a form c relays for the two level alarms and fault alarm. this pcb includes a modbus® rs-485 serial port. visual led alarm & rs-485 tx / rx indicators located on the front panel are standard.users may program power warm up and calibration exit delays to avoid false alarms. delays hold outputs at zero until sensor signals stabilize. in/out alarm trip delays may also be programmed. a security menu allows entry of an authorization code to lock critical parameters.

calibration kits are essential in ensuring that your gas sensor accuracy is at its peak. sensors should be calibrated on a regular basis to compensate for signal loss or drift and to guarantee optimal performance.amc calibration kits are durable, economical and easily operated. cal kits include a carry case, regulator, flow adapter, calibration hose and a calibration jack. our gas cylinders are available in numerous standard gases including co, cH4, nH3, co2 and cl2.

1) cARRy cASEour calibration kit carrying cases are constructed of moulded high impact resistant plastic ensuring its vigorous durability. this will protect your amc calibration equipment from the harshest, most volatile environments ensuring that your calibration kit is damage-free and fully operational when needed.

2) REGUlATORthe regulator control valve is the intermediary connecting the hose to the gas cylinder. the regulator’s function is to control the amount of gas fed from the cylinder, through the calibration unit and ultimately onto the sensor. standard regulators flow at one litre per minute.

3) FlOW ADApTERthe flow adapter is designed to fit comfortably onto the sensor. constructed of flexible yet durable material, the flow adapter ensures that the sensor receives proper exposure to the calibration gas. flow adapters are specific to sensor type.

4) cAlIbRATION HOSEmade of vinyl or teflon, the calibration hose linking the regulator to the flow adapter must be made of materials that will not absorb gas, altering the concentration.

5) cAlIbRATION JAcKthis device interconnects simple 4-20ma transmitters to standard multimeters.
