It has two stages: the Abbey, with a capacity of 492 seats, and the Peacock, with a capacity of 132 seats. The Abbey Theatre is committed to producing a year round program of work both on and off stage, with the priority to create work of excellence, which not only showcases Irish and international drama but also engages with the artistic and civic life of contemporary Ireland. PURPOSE OF JOB An opportunity exists in the Abbey Theatre for an experienced sales professional looking for an exciting role in pro-active sales. The Sales Manager’s role is ambitious, results driven and involves identifying and nurturing strong client relationships, converting sales and driving growth and development of Theatre Skills for Business. Theatre Skills for Business offers voice and performance workshops designed and led by our in-house expert Senior Artistic Team. Learning outcomes are based on the development of voice and theatre techniques for use both personally and in a business environment. The Sales Manager is a member of the Sales and Customer Service Team and line manages the Events Coordinator. The Sales Manager must be able to demonstrate a strong background of successful relationship building, a proven record of sales conversions and strong interpersonal skills. RESPONSIBILITIES

clients, enhancing the opportunity for referral and repeat business Identifying, creating and nurturing positive and trusting relationships with clients Working closely and nurturing relationships with workshop leaders and internal

departments Recording all customer records, activities, account status on Customer

Relationship Management system Reaching annual sales target, agreed KPIs and increasing market share for

Working closely with our Communications Team to drive ‘Theatre Skills for Business’ sales through our digital media platform i.e. website, e-shots, online listings.

Ensuring the Events Coordinator is delivering on key responsibilities to support Theatre Skills for Business.

Preparing quotations and proposals ensuring high standards of communication, presentation and customer care

Arrange and host familiarisation visits i.e. performance previews Providing accurate reporting and forecasting to ensure all KPIs are being

achieved to the required standard. Monitoring competitor analysis across leading UK & Irish suppliers Representing and networking at relevant industry events

General duties: Contribute and participate in the performance management process Ensure human resource policies and statutory obligations are adhered to. Develop knowledge of CRM (Tessitura) system Support the work of the Head of Sales & Customer Service and undertake any

other tasks as may be deemed reasonable and appropriate.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) To introduce Theatre Skills for Business to an agreed number of new contacts

per month To continue to build and nurture existing client relationships with an agreed

number of contacts per month Meet agreed sales targets on a monthly basis Feed into 2016/2017 sales strategy on a monthly basis

Person Specification:The post holder will have:

At least 2 years’ experience in a proactive sales role demonstrating success in sales, nurturing client relationships and achieving sales targets.

At least 2 years’ experience in approaching, interacting and maintaining contact with business and corporate market clients

Excellent people skills and enthusiasm for creating meaningful relationships A rigorous approach to service delivery including strong administration skills,

strong communication skills and great attention to detail Experience of budgeting and financial management Passion and experience for cross selling and identifying new opportunities A high level of self-motivation and autonomy with the ability to contribute to the

sales team An interest in theatre, arts and personal/professional development

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Post: This is a specified purpose contract (to cover Maternity Leave) with the Abbey TheatreHours: 40hrs per week – standard hours are 09.30-18.30 Monday – Friday. This post requires flexibility and attendance at events outside of normal hours.Annual Salary: Commensurate with skills and experienceProbationary Period: 6 months

Holidays: 24 days per annum (including Good Friday and Christmas Eve) + 9 public holidaysPension: The Abbey Theatre provides employees with access to a Personal Retirement Savings Account (PRSA) and will match contributions up to 5.5% of salary. Employees must contribute a min. of 3% to avail of employer contributions.
