enterprise development
at human we apply the principles of creativity, storytelling, philanthropy and enterprise to facilitate change.
Good ideas are common – what’s uncommon are people who’ll work hard enough to bring them about.
We work in diverse and responsive ways, with and for amazing and passionate people and communities. With the aim of identifying, developing and mobilising solutions that enrich humanity.
our work falls broadly into the categories of Community engagement, arts and Cultural development, design solutions and enterprise development.
arts and Cultural development
put simply, culture is about ‘making sense’.
Culture describes:
our values, experiences and aspirations; the ways we develop, receive and communicate these values; and, the ways of life these processes produce.
if culture describes how we make sense and the results of that sense, then art describes the aspects of culture in which creativity and imagination are the key drivers.
With the arts, we can imagine the future, unpack the past, and confront the present. We can predict change, focus our visions and face our fears.
at human, we apply the practices of arts and cultural development to:
address issues of social disconnection and encourage •active citizenship.
•empower people to be cultural creators rather than •passive consumers and recipients.
•develop an individual’s capacity and ability to •communicate effectively, think critically, collaborate and apply ideas to find solutions.
We develop and deliver leading arts and cultural projects.
We make our World SiGnifiCant by the CouraGe of our
queStionS and by the depth of our anSWerS.
With the artS, We Can imaGine the
future, unpaCk the paSt, and Confront

Community engagement
Community engagement describes the processes by which organisations and individuals build ongoing relationships with the broader community.
too often, community engagement is used as a reactive tool to seek opinion or address problems that exist as a consequence of poor planning processes.
effective community engagement values the voice and ideas of diverse communities and encourages active participation in democracy, planning, policy development and decision making.
We have extensive expertise and experience in various modes of community engagement, such as:

design Solutions
the world can be a noisy and cluttered place.
it is estimated that each person encounters 3,000 to 5,000 ads and marketing messages every single day.
many ideas, products and messages compete for our time, money, energy and focus.
With so much choice it is easy to become overwhelmed, lost or desensitised.
how do important ideas and messages get seen and heard?
how do meaningful connections take place?
We acknowledge and endorse people as creators of culture rather than merely consumers of culture.
We understand that creative design is a strategic resource, not a decorative service.
We also recognise that business value should be measured by more than financial performance and that social, cultural and environmental considerations have long-term benefits to business and the community.
as such, we work to ensure that our social, economic, cultural and environmental impacts and the impacts of the people and companies we work with are increasingly positive and beneficial.
We aim to ConneCt people, information, produCtS and ideaS in meaninGful and reSponSible WayS.
