Pervez Mody – Biography Known for his deep and exciting performances, Pervez Mody, enjoys a big reputation on the concert circuit. An exceptionally gifted child, he began learning the piano at the age of 4 with Feroza Dubash Labonne and Farida Dubash, teachers who profoundly influenced his musical interpretations and his understanding of classical music. Even in his youth he won a record number of competitions, prizes and distinctions and was in great demand as a concert performer. He then won a scholarship to study at the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Professor Margarita Fyodorava, who introduced him to the works of Alexander Scriabin. He undertook further studies – again with a scholarship – with Prof. Fanny Solter and Prof. Miguel Proenca at Karlsruhe University of Music. Pervez Mody is frequently invited to perform in Europe, Asia and South America to give solo performances at concerts, festivals and piano evenings, piano concertos with orchestras and appear in a variety of chamber music ensembles. Pervez Mody has made several CD recordings for Naxos, Thorofon Recordings and ANTES among others. He has performed on radio and television including Telefision Tajikisthan,BBC, Channel 4 and All India Radio. He has also been broadcast on Südwestrundfunk, ORF, BayernKlassik , Deutschlandradio, SWR2, WDR, Swiss Classic. Recently he was interviewed on the radio by Südwestrundfunk and NordwestRadio on the music of Alexander Scriabin and his new CDs (Pervez Mody plays Scriabin Volume 2 + 3). He is presently recording the complete works of Scriabin under the label Thorofon. Pervez Mody has also given benefit concerts for Unicef, Victims of 9/11, and AidsHilfe. Since 2002 his Duo Appassionata performances with the violinist Isabel Steinbach have been highly successful and the artists recorded a CD with works of Niels Gade, Christian Sinding and Edvard Grieg for the label ANTES. Pervez Mody is a Steinway Artist.

Pervez Mody – Reviews He is not only a pianist but a musician and wonderful artist (El Norte Argentina)

Pervez Mody is an extraordinary musician and a performing artist of a very unique kind. …. It was an unforgettable experience! (Martha Argerich, Brussels 2009)

..Pervez Mody is a talented young pianist, with a bright future ahead….he has all the abilities its make it as a concert pianist…. (Prof. Margarita Fyodorova, pianist in Moscow)

…shows over all in his interpretations that true technique does not only involve the ability to play difficult music but also the ability to picture to his audience the elements of nuance, dynamics, mood and all others that give that avid concert goer great pleasure an satisfaction from a performance. (Douglasse Burrulace, pianist, London)

Mody seizes his listeners, sweeps them along in the pianistic turbulence – and one does not even wish to escape from this intoxicating experience! One wants to keep looking and listening, stunned and enthralled. (Badische Zeitung, Germany)

… one of Mody’s strengths is the remarkable ability to do justice to the emotional demands of the repertoire. (Kingston Daily, Jamaica)

… the extraordinarily self-confident Mody began the well-known poem „Vers la flamme“ in an eerie crackling fashion and built it up with great power of expression auf till the culmination, where he kept up the tension for a long time! (BNN Karlsruhe, Germany)

…pointed accents and a marching rhythme designate this work which Pervez Mody did not only feel with his hands but actually felt with his entire body…his security especially during the daring runs showed his fully developed technique of piano-playing…. (Solingen, Germany)
