Tradeshows

SEMICON TAIW AN, Taipe i , September 7 -9

CTEX Suzhou, China. May 18 -20

Business

This major PCB show in China has always been an excellent

opportunity to showcase new models and solutions. This

time, we have launched Phoenix Maxima, Camtek’s latest AOI

for 10 µm line IC Substrate market. It was connected to work-

ing robot automation which attracted a lot of interest. In ad-

dition, we have presented for the first time Unicorn 600 – our

new AFI system that marks Camtek reentry to final inspection

market.

JPCA: Tokyo, Japan. June 1-3, 2016

At this main PCB event in Japan, we have presented our highest end

AOI, Phoenix HDI/TX, our model for 15 µm line technology. The show

was organized by our Japanese agent, Hakuto and it was the second

year of Camtek’s continuous high profile presence at JPCA. This

event was a great opportunity to meet some of our existing and po-

tential customers in Japan and beyond.

We used Semicon Taiwan as a

platform to launch our new Eagle

model, designed for 2D inspec-

tion. The new system at the

booth and the live demos attract-

ed many visitors.

Adjacent to the Semicon Taiwan show we

held two customer seminars: the first, on

September 5th at the Taichung Windsor hotel in

which we hosted customers from Central of Taiwan, in-

cluding SPIL, Micron, PTI, Ardentec, KYEC. The seminar

was very successful, included technical sessions, presen-

tations of our roadmap, and on top, served as a platform

to better understand the needs and plans of our custom-

ers and have open discussions.

Seminar in Taichung

The second seminar was held on September 6th, at

our customer’s site ASE Kaohsiung.

Seminar in Kaohsiung

Quarterly GM Meeting Held in Taiwan after the Semicon show, on September 10-11, the meeting provided

Camtek’s Asian offices an opportunity to meet HQ Semiconductor division staff, receive

New Senior Employee

Roni Melika, RIP

We were all overwhelmed to receive the news on the untimely death

of our colleague Roni Melika, RIP.

Roni passed away on August 26th due to a heart event, at the age of

34 leaving behind a wife and three little children.

We had the opportunity to get to know Roni and work with him in the

past year. Roni was a professional and very dedicated employee who

was always willing to help everyone in his modest, quiet manner.

We have lost a dear friend and a valued colleague.

Camtek Summer Camp

This year, for the first time, we decid-

ed to conduct a whole week summer camp

for employees' children, during the summer holi-

day.

On the last week of August, 60 children at ele-

mentary school (aged 6-12), came with their par-

ents to Camtek, and had a very unique and enter-

taining week.

The kids have participated in different workshops

and fun activities. The highlight of each day, was

undoubtedly the lunch break in which the kids

spent time at the dining room with their parents.

This week created a special bonding between the

different kids and deepen the families' acquaint-

ance with Camtek.

New year toast and seniority recognition

During September, we celebrated "Rosh Ha'shana", the beginning of the Jewish New Year.

As in previous years, New Year's celebration was dedicated to recognize the senior employees who have been working

in the company over the past ten years .

This year’s senior employees are: Avi Yaavets, Dafna Moseinko, Dorit Aviram, Einav Arad, Elan Arad, Husam Saadi, Ilan

Hadida, Lior Alfasi, Marcela David, Shay Simani, Shimon Koren, Yuri Kotler, and Yuval Ragoler.

In addition, we recognized Shalom Levital for his contribution to the local community. In the past year Shalom mentored a

young boy from the city of Migdal Ha'emek and helped him study for the Mathematics examinations. Shalom's contribution

for the boy's self esteem and belief in himself, is very significant.

During the gathering we hosted a very special and inspiring young woman, Sivan Ya'ari, who came to share with us her ex-

citing personal story of how she became the Founder & CEO of Innovation Africa, a special non-profit organization that

brings Israeli innovation to rural African villages. Thanks to Sivan and her teams, millions in Africa have light and running wa-

ter.

The date with communication

Second Season: Establish the excellent ability of

self-knowledge

“The date with communication” of Second Season was

facilitated by HR Department of Camtek China from May

to July this year. There were more than 140 employees

joined to learn and share.

The main content of this workshop started from three

questions, where am I from? Who am I? Where am I going

to? We expect our employees will make realistic evalua-

tion of themselves and achieve abundant mentality gradu-

ally by knowing Chinese history evolution, discussing be-

havioral characteristics and looking for self-growth, so that

they can reach a higher level of self-knowledge and make

better communication with others.

New Offices

JAPAN

Office renovation, by Jan De Turck

In July, Camtek Japan has renovated its office in Ka-

wasaki.

After it became clear that Hakuto (our newly appointed

distributor for PCB), like Canon for Semiconductors, wanted to

continue to use our office as a demo center because of its conven-

ient location, Tomoko Hasegawa and myself initiated an ambitious

renovation project.

Our main targets were:

Give a better, more hi-tech impression to our customers

Separate the demo rooms for ME and PCB

Upgrade the meeting “corner” to a full-fledged meeting room

with flat panel screen and remote connection to both ma-

chines

Accommodate in each demo room 2 to 3 engineers from our

respective distributors

Upgrade the bathroom

After 6 months of planning and negotiation, the renovation/

redesign was carried out in July.

We are especially proud of the new entrance for customers as

well as the meeting room.

I indeed would like to thank Tomoko for her hard work and perse-

verance to bring this project to a bright ending. 2016 marked our

10-year anniversary in this office. Up to the next 10 years!

This is the feedback I got from Hakuto and Canon:

Customer visited Camtek office for demo today.

We used new meeting room, new demo room and new bathroom.

Customer said “what a beautiful office! The design of the office is

polished too. Wonderful!!”

New office gave him very good impression about Camtek.

Thank you so much.

Yamazaki/Hakuto

----

I have good impression to your new office.

The following is a main reason.

*Bright

*Fresh

And especially I like your new entrance and meeting room that is

designed with Bright & Fresh.

It seems that it is an effect of big windows.

We think that customers also have good impression to your new

office.

Best Regards,

Matsumura

I was born in 1970 in kibbutz Maoz Haim, where I grew up as a part of the Kibbutz communal child rearing and collective education

that was the method of education that was common in the kibbutz at those times.

At the age of 18 I went to guide for one year in a youth movement and then I joined the Israeli navy. I served there for 5 years, and got to

the rank of lieutenant.

After my military service I backpacked in South America for 10 months, a very significant experience in my life that opened my mind to many new

ideas, people, perspectives and 2 new languages.

In 1995, I started to study at the Computer Science faculty of the Technion for BSc. in information

systems. On the year 2000 I started to work in my new profession, and I have been doing so up

until now. During that year I also participated in the TV show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”,

and won 32K NIS, failing to answer which character said “When you have to shoot...Shoot! Don't

talk” in the famous western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”.

I joined Camtek’s MIS team on June 2010. In the first 3 years I was in charge of the business intelli-

gence (BI) tools that helped to improve different aspects of the company’s processes, mainly in the

service side, stock management, sales, manufacturing, install base and QA; I also helped in devel-

oping and implementing a revenue recognition system for the Finance department.

Then we started the SAP project, in which I was in charge of the sales and distribution module and

the service module from the MIS perspectives. This included consolidating and migrating all

Camtek customers’ master data from our former information system (MFG/PRO) into SAP applica-

tion, implementing and training the teams in Camtek offices around the globe regarding the new

work procedures, and many more tasks...

Nowadays my main tasks include creating BI tools for analysis and reporting, maintaining the de-

pendencies mechanism in the Eagle configurator and supporting the improvement of service pro-

cesses, all, of course, on SAP.

When I was 37 I met Soli, a phenomenal woman and the mother of 2.5 years old Yahli. I moved in

with them to Kfar Ruppin, a kibbutz with an extraordinary community, situated in the valley of

springs. We got married a year later. In 2008 our second daughter, Tom, was born, in 2011 our Son,

Ori, was born, and in 2014 our last daughter, Raz, was born.

My main 2 areas of interest in my quite limited free time are Education and Environment preservation. In the house we built in we implemented

many ecological components, including Photovoltaics system, gray water system and many more. We are proud that we only dump the bins at

home once a week, as we manage to reduce, reuse and recycle most of our garbage!

I am the chairman of education in my community, and I am also a member of the community’s social council, the ecological team and more…

I recently initiated a project, that will hopefully go-live early November this year, a direct-farmer-consumer market in the region where I live. The

project target is to deliver fresh, quality products with prices that are good for both sides cutting off all the middle-men enabling Local-Sustainable

economy.

At the beginning of this year I was given by Orit, Camtek HR director, a rare opportunity to make a major difference in another person’s life. Avi is a

guy living in Migdal HaEmek, who recently graduated high school, with only one more exam to pass before he can get his matriculation certifi-

cate and can apply for University. Unfortunately, his family cannot afford a private teacher. She suggested I will help him to pass this last exam, in

mathematics, during my office hours as a part of Camtek’s community involvement program. I was glad to take this challenge, and today, 10

months later, Avi passed his first exam, and we are headed towards the other two, scheduled to January 2017. I am so thankful to Camtek that

allow me to help Avi. I believe all three parties of this initiative gain a lot! I want to recommend everyone who feel she/he can contribute to the

community, one way or the other, to do so. It gives me a lot, makes a very good feeling, and adds meaning to my life. I also think it is awesome,

and remarkable that Camtek choose to put a spotlight on this issue!
