Client’s Requirement

• To make the business thriving after COVID-19 recession, an

Indian trader decided to expand their business operation by

manufacturing paraffin waxes and other by-products.

• For this, they decided to purchase petroleum products from a

Saudi Arabian Supplier. To conclude the deal, the supplier

demanded the buyer to prove their fiscal strength by providing

Bank Comfort Letter – BCL MT799.

Problem Faced By the Client

• Since the economy was under pressure, the Indian trader didn’t

want to block their own cash funds to avail BCL letter on their

behalf. So, they decided to get help from private trade finance

providers.

• They found BWT from Facebook and contacted us with their

request to avail BCL MT799 on their company’s behalf without

blocking cash funds.

Solution Offered by BWT

• Once we received the request from the client, we performed a

detailed study on their request and approved to provide BCL Bank

on their behalf.

• The Client signed the service agreement and paid the service

charges. We blocked our bank limit, as per their deal and sent the

BCL Draft for the client’s review.

• The Client approved the draft and paid the BCL issuance fee

charges. And then, we instructed our bank to issue the BCL

MT799 on behalf of the Indian trader and in favor of the Saudi

Arabian Supplier.

The Supplier Sent POP to the Buyer

• After receiving the BCL Letter, the supplier assured of the buyer’s

financial strength to conclude the deal. So, they sent the POP

(Proof of Products) to the buyer’s bank.

• The buyer found that the supplier have the product ready for

shipment. So, they both signed the contract and proceeded

further with the trade deal.
