Major League Baseball’s All-Star Break would like to personally invite you to be

the official sponsor for the 2017 season’s All-Star Game and the surrounding

events. Baseball is rapidly evolving and the use of technology is becoming

paramount at the Major League level. That being said, we have selected

Microsoft because you are a global leader in technological development and

Microsoft has the ability to improve Major League Baseball immediately.

Microsoft’s ability to produce quality, easy-to-use technology is highly sought

after, when technology is playing a greater role in professional sports. Exit

velocity, route efficiency, and spin rate; these are just a few of the important

data collected for scouting and player evaluation. Solidifying a foundation for

the front office to craft the best roster and formulate a game plan. By partnering

with Major League Baseball, the opportunity provides a national audience to

witness your products in-use while elevating ‘America’s Pastime’ to new levels.

Not only will baseball in North America be influenced by your products, the MLB

has 30 Academies established in South and Central America. Baseball is at the

top of the rankings in terms of diversity among major sports, reaching a global

audience. Resulting in greater exposure of Microsoft technology around the

world and the potential effects on sport.

The MLB All-Star Break is expected to generate economic impacts far north of

$100 million. All events will take place in Miami, Florida, attracting a large

baseball fan base with the Florida sun and the state-of-the-art Marlins Park.

Through the sponsorship agreement, we will make you the official technological

provider of the MLB All-Star Break and possibly future seasons to come. We

propose an agreement of $10 million, in return for exposure through exclusive

use of Microsoft brand products, print and technological advertisements.

Our All-Star Game has a rich history dating back to 1933 with the American

League edging the National League 4-2 at historic Comiskey Park, in Chicago,

Illinois. 67 different ballparks have held the game, in 35 different States,

promoting the love for professional baseball across the United States. The All-Star

break was designed to celebrate elite performance while creating a fun,

welcoming atmosphere for all types of fans – old and new.

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game is unique among the major sports in

the United States. The winning league is awarded an advantage for their

representative team in the World Series. This makes the Major League Baseball

All-Star Game a true contest of the best in the world.

Major League Baseball is much more than just baseball. We are an organization

dedicated to providing quality experiences and the All-Star Weekend promotes

In 2017, the MLB All-Star Game will be held at Marlins Park, Miami Florida. Built in

2012, Marlins Park is a state-of-the-art facility with a 37,000+ capacity at an

estimated cost of $634 million.

The ballpark highlights neomodern baseball architecture.

The sixth MLB stadium to feature a retractable roof.

Because our event is held at a different location every year, the

attendance figures vary year to year depending on the carrying

capacity of the host ballpark.

Highest: 72,086 (Municipal Stadium, 1981)

Lowest: 25,556 (Braves Field, 1936)

Marlins Park: 37,742 (Max capacity – 3rd smallest park in the MLB)

Much like attendance, demographics are dependent on the

location of the host site.

The All-Star Game is an exhibition, where we attempted to make the game a

showcase for its premier players, while including fans in the process through

voting. Major League Baseball is continuously attempting to promote fan

engagement, with heavy emphasis on the internet and social media usage.

MLB is targeting a younger and more diverse fan base while maintaining a

family-friendly atmosphere.

reaching as many people as possible through our various events, striking interest

in more than just baseball fans. Much like Microsoft, we strive for elite level

experiences for spectators and participants alike. While optimizing

organizational performance, Major League Baseball is committed to the

environment making great efforts to conserve energy and recycle waste

generated by each contest. The MLB All-Star Game had a higher viewership

than any NBA Playoff Game (including The Finals) in 2013 (FanGraph). Data

suggests that the MLB All-Star game is gaining momentum in interest through the

PUBLIC IMAGE/TARGET MARKET – Major League Baseball is one of the most

iconic pastimes of the United States, it even holds the nickname, America’s

Pastime. While Major League Baseball promotes traditional American values,

professional baseball. The unique aspect of the MLB All-Star Weekend is that it

brings the best players together to compete in a battle for home field
