QualitySumcab Specialcable Group gives priority above all to the quality of its products and services, a fact supportes by the Company Registration Certificateby DNV Company (Det Norske Veritas).

Sumcab tries to give at any cables the most suitable homologation and nowadays it has wide range of approved cables to meet the highest request coming from the market.

While giving priority above all to the quality and durability of our products, we continually optimize production processes in order to maintain an excellent quality/price ratio. The laboratory is equipped with modern testing equipments for essential tests which are carried out after or during the production of every cable.

For each delivery, a test report is prepared for each cable, reissuing the main tests for the cables, and the reports are sent with the official documents to the customers.Stress on product quality and customer satisfaction; constant training and research; continu-ous investments in our business are the keys to Sumcab´s success.

Mechanical and chemical protectionOur manufacture range for Instrumentation and Control cables includes the following options for mechanical and chemical protection.

The primary purpose of armour is to protect the cable against mechanical damage during installa-tion and operation. The most common armour designs are the following:

Very good mechanical protection; reasonably good exibility; suitable for tensile loads; coverage of over 90 %.

100 % covering of the cable assembly; good protection against rodents.

Lightweight armour to withstand tensile loads; permits the smallest bending radius of all armour designs; used mainly for small cable diameters; are recommended to achieve sufficient mechani-cal protection a coverage of at least 85 % are recommended to achieve sufficient mechanical protection.

Double lapped steel tapes, 100 % covering of the cable assembly. Good protection against pressure, impact loads and rodents, not suitable for tensile loads. Best inductive protection of all armours listed.

Mechanical protection

Armour of galvanised round steel wires (SWA Type)

Armour of corrugated steel tape (SR Type or CTA)

Armour of galvanised steel wire braid (Q Type or GSWB)

Armour of galvanized steel tapes (B Type or STA)

Our S-BLOC AP protection layer offers, in comparison to traditional lead sheath:

If the risk of oil and chemicals an ecting the installed cable cannot be excluded this may affect the operation of the cables in long term. The extent of the risk is determined by type, agressive nature, condition and quantity of the medium, the duration of immersion and the temperature.

The safest, though most expensive protec-tion against aromatic hydrocarbons and active chemicals.

Same as lead protection against aromatic hy-drocarbons and active chemicals. This design combining aluminium tape and high density polyethylene HDPE sheath with a covering of polyamide PA (Nylon), represents an excellent barrier against penetrating chemicals and can be used as an alternative to lead sheath.Advantage: lighter, smaller diameter.

1) In all standards the basic EMF values of the same thermocouple type are identical.

2) Following standards are correspond-ing with the IEC-Standard 60584 DIN 43722 and JIS C 1610 section 1

Temperature ranges and tolerances to IEC 60584. Part.3, Novembre 2007. Color coding for conductors and outer sheaths to IEC 60584. Part3, November 2007. Besides the identification letter of the thermocouple type, extension cables are identified by “X” compensat-ing cables by “C”The color coding of BC, NX and NC is according to DIN 43722.

The identification system of ASTM does not differ between extension and compensating cables; all materials are marked “X”.For BX the temperature range and toler-ance have to be agreed upon between end-user and manufacturer.ISA RP 1.1 is withdrawn; VX material is still available.
