Was on tour to HQ New Delhi from 13.07.16 to 16.07.16 for attending Plan Review Meeting. 3. Visited Kolkata Training Centre, Salt Lake on 18.07.16 for inauguration new IMTC batch. 4. Attended a meeting on 25.07.16 at RMC Alipore with Commandant R.K. Vishwakarma, Harbour Master, Port Management Board, Port Blair to discuss issues related to forwarding of weather reports with regard to Andaman Sea. 5. Was on tour to HQ New Delhi from 27.07.16 to 28.07.16 for attending ‘MoES Foundation Day Celebration’.

(c) Attended meeting of the committee constituted for collection of bathymetric and other important data on the important rivers in the state for flood modeling and development of early warning system on 04.07.2016. (d) Attended meeting with Director of Agriculture and Food Production on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna on 04.07.2016 at Rajib Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. (e) Participated on workshop on RSRW-GPS upper air performance at New Delhi during 12-13 July 2016. (f) Visited KVK Kerei at Sundergarh to start DAMUS under GKMS during 14.07.2016 to 16.07.2016. (g) Participated as Chief Speaker in the Department of Basic Sciences of Govt. College, Sundergarh on UGC sponsored State Level seminar on natural disaster and its impact in Odisha on 15.07.2016. 1.13 Action taken on Minimum Government Maximum Governance.

: RMC Kolkata Adverse weather SMS warnings are sent through mobile to all State Govt. Officials, Disaster Management Officials and Other Central Govt. Organisations on real time basis.

MC Bhubaneswar (i) Mobile numbers of state government Officials and other disaster related officials are sent to CWD, IMD New Delhi. (ii) SMS for adverse weather are sent through mobile to all users. (iii) Daily forecast along with warning and city forecast for 16 cities

are disseminated through email to all users including state authorities, electronic and print media.

(iv) Nowcasting based on DWR products of Kolkata and Visakhapatnam and CTT of IMD site are, disseminated to all users including SRC, OSDMA, concerned collectors and both electronic and print media.

M.C.Gangtok

All the sections of this office are running smoothly with the existing limited number of staff and officers which are much lower than the sanctioned strength.

(b) Attended meeting on CCKN-IA at IMAGE, Bhubaneswar on 05.07.2016. He gave a talk on district weather forecast on every Tuesday and Friday by IMD and proposal for Block level weather forecast.

(c) Attended meeting of State Level Committee on Natural calamities on 29.06.2016 at Secretariat, Govt. of Odisha under chairmanship of Chief Minister of Odisha.

(d) Attended the meeting with Telecom Service Providers on different issues relating to emergency communication system on 04.07.2016 at Rajiv Bhawan, Bhubaneswar

(e) Shri Asit Kumar Tripathy, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Govt. of Odisha visited Met. Centre, Bhubaneswar on 26.07.2016 and discussed about present weather forecast practices and status of Doppler weather Radar in Odisha.

Daily Weather bulletin for Jharkhand state issued & supplied to state govt. & other agencies.

Briefing provided to the representatives from press/ electronic media on prevailing weather scenario & forecast of Jharkhand - 25 occasions.

FMO Jalpaiguri

FMO Jalpaiguri is in touch with CWC office, Jalpaiguri and rainfall data of fifteen stations of North Bengal &

Sikkim have been received from them daily and also supplied to them as per requirements.

M.C.Gangtok

This office is in constant touch with the following offices and data are passed to them:

ii) Relief Commissioner, Govt. of Sikkim.

ii. PPT(Rainfall, its Spatial & Intensity) and NOWCAST of scheduled twelve stations and its verification and updating in ‘’METNET’’ website & e-mailed to NOWCAST Division, New Delhi and city forecast of fifteen stations of West Bengal and its dissemination in real time basis

iii. 1. Collection, Preparation and Dissemination of Station wise Daily Rainfall data, Preparation of district wise daily rainfall statistics, DRMS Monsoon Bulletin under daily rainfall monitoring scheme(DRMS) of three subdivisions under its control , were sent by fax / e-mail to :--- a) NHAC New Delhi and DGM (Hydrology) New Delhi. b) DDGM(WF) Pune, LRF Pune and NCC, Pune and all concerned c) District wise weekly and monthly rainfall data were sent by E-mail to :- DGM (H) New Delhi, ADGM(R) Pune, Agrimet Pune, and DDGM (WF) Pune and all concerned. 2. a) On every Tuesday and Friday, district level ensemble forecast of NHAC downloaded from imd.gov.in website and value added forecast along with realized weather were sent to AMFUs in this state and M.O. Port Blair(value added forecast sent in excel format that is being downloaded from the moderated report generated by farmers portal). Also online moderation of district level ensemble forecast for WB and A&N islands done in NeGPA(Govt. of India) software module named as farmers’ portal. After receiving district wise advisories from each AMFUs, Composite English Bulletins were issued on every Tuesday and Friday & Bengali Bulletin on Wednesday. The composite bulletins are uploaded in imd.agrimet.gov.in alongwith value added forecast (moderated forecast) on the date of their issue for display in the website .This unit also sends weather forecast and warnings by SMS to farmers through mKisan portal. This unit also sends weekly Met. Departure from Normal to Agrimet, Pune b) Crop yield forecast for Jute(F- 3) was given for 12 districts of West Bengal.

M.C. Patna Medium range weather forecast for 38 districts of Bihar issued and disseminated to AMFU’S on every

Tuesday and Friday

8. जल मौसम विज्ञान (HYDROMETEOROLOGY) :

8.1 FLOOD METEOROLOGY

FMO Asansol: (i) QPF Bulletins are issued wef 01.06.2016 at 0930 HRS IST on regular basis, throughout the month. (ii) Daily Rainfall & Composite Rainfall are also being sent daily wef 01.06.2016 throughout the month. (iii) Hydromet & General Bulletins are issued at 1230 hrs IST daily wef 01.06.2016 M.C. Bhubaneswar: Dr. S.C. Sahu, Sc-‘F’ attended the “Meeting of the committee constituted for collection of bathymetric and other important data on the important rivers in the state with the objective of flood modeling and development of early warning system” on 05.07.2016 at office of the Special Relief Commissioner, Bhubaneswar.

9. रेडार मौसम विज्ञान (RADAR METEOROLOGY) :

1. Doppler weather radar Kolkata was operated round the clock.

2. DWR Kolkata generated raw data at 10 minutes interval was disseminated to central server, New

Delhi, and to Nowcasting system server at ACWC Kolkata in NETCDF format.

3. DWR Kolkata observations were disseminated to the respective users on routine basis and uploaded

to IMD New Delhi and RMC Kolkata (ACWC) websites at every 10 minutes intervals.

4. Radar was serviceable at M.C. Patna throughout the month.

FMO Asansol : 3 stations inspected M.C. Bhubaneswar: 1. Inspectional tour to the Rain gauge stations by the retired officers of IMD were undertaken to the different Blocks in Odisha on behalf of the O/O Addl. Relief commissioner and Addl. Secretary to Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with IMD Bhubaneswar and almost 307 Blocks are completed out of 314 Blocks. 2 .DDGM(SI) was requested to take necessary action for rectification of HHDL available at the different observatories of Odisha
