2019 Featured Clinician Speakers >>Michael C. DiTolla, DDS, FAGDThe Current Crown DilemmaA 1988 graduate of University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Dr. DiTolla was in private practice for 15 years before becoming Director of Clinical Education for Glidewell Labs for the next 15 years, giving him an intimate knowledge of American dentists and their crown and bridge habits. In 2011 he received the “Most Effective Dentist Educator” award in a nationwide survey of dentists. In 2014 and 2015 he lectured on behalf of CR, presenting their iconic “Dentistry Update” lectures. In 2015, he became Director of Clinical Affairs for Sirona. He is currently the VP of Clinical Affairs and Communication for AEGIS Dental Network.

Stanley F. Malamed DDSAnesthetics and Oral MedicineDoctor Malamed, a dentist anesthesiologist, graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry and then completed a residency in anesthesiology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He taught at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles for 40 years.

Doctor Malamed has authored more than 160 scientific papers and 17 chapters in various medical and dental journals and textbooks. He is the author of three widely used textbooks: Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office; Handbook of Local Anesthesia; and Sedation: A Guide to Patient Management.

Gordon J. Christensen

Gordon J. Christensen is CEO of Practical Clinical Courses (PCC), an inter-national continuing education organization that provides courses and videos for all dental professionals. Dr. Christensen has presented over 45,000 hours of continuing education throughout the world and has published many articles and books. Gordon and Dr. Rella Christensen are co-founders of the nonprofit Gordon J. Christensen Clinicians Report where, since 1976, they have conducted research in all areas of dentistry and published the findings to the profession in the well-known CRA Newsletter, now called Clinicians Report. Gordon continues today as a practicing prosthodontist in Provo, Utah.

Spouse Program >>“Believe, Love, Do” Husbands and wives of dental professionals attending the Academy conference are invited to attend the Spouse Program. Uplifting presentations will inspire participants to

"Believe, Love, Do" through music and instruction outlining ways to increase faith in Christ, love others, and do what He would do. Spouse Program sessions will be held in the ballroom of the adjacent Harman Building.

T.C. Christensen is an American cinematographer, film director, and writer well known for his Latter-day Saint church history films. Among his most famous works are Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration, 17 Miracles, and Ephraim’s Rescue. He also

wrote and directed films depicting the Martin and Willie handcart companies and their journey across the Great Plains toward Salt Lake Valley in 1856.

Jenny Oaks Baker, "America’s Violinist," is a Grammy-nominated, Billboard No. 1 recording artist and performer. Jenny has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and with musical groups such as the National Symphony and the Mormon

Tabernacle Choir. Jenny has released fourteen studio albums that have sold nearly one million copies. Music from her Grammy-nominated album Wish Upon a Star is featured at Disney World and Disneyland to introduce the nightly fireworks shows. Youth Program >>Youth ages 6–18 will enjoy two fun-filled days at some of Utah’s most exciting attractions, as well as make new friends and enjoy friendships from previous annual dental conferences. We hope all the youth will join us for great adventures!

Friday: In the morning, youth ages 6–11 years will play games, while youth ages 12–18 will enjoy hearing from popular BYU speaker Anthony Sweat. For the rest of their day, all youth will have a blast at Lagoon!

Saturday: In the morning the youth can choose either to play water games or listen to another dynamic speaker, Ben Knowlton. The rest of the day will be filled with bowling, a magic show, and a trip to the Provo Rec Center for swimming and waterslides.
