somethingneedstobedoneafterhours.Thereissomeweekendwork,usuallyonlyapicturehereorthere.Sundaysareusuallyfree.Iftheinternwantsaweekendoff,orneedstoheadoutoftown,noproblem-justgiveusadvancenotice.•Youcoverhardnewswritingtofeatureinterviews,photography,videographyandlayoutanddesign.However,wewanttheinterntolearnwhattheyneedtolearnaswell.Beittacklesellinganadorhelpinginthepressroomwewantawell-roundedexperience.Howmuchtheinternaccomplishesduringthesummerisuptotheintern.Thejobiswhattheymakeit.Themoretheinternaccomplishesandgrows,thebetteroffeveryoneis.And,bonusesorraisescomemoreeasily.•Weneedvideo--forouronlineproducttheinternprovidesauniqueperspectiveofourcommunity,sometimeswecan’tseetheforestforthetreesandtheinternhelpsopenanewvisionofourcommunity.•Therewillbebeatwork,suchascoveringaCity,UtilityandSupervisormeeting,dependingontimeavailable.Thatwouldbebeneficialshouldyougointobroadcastingaswell.Inaddition,ifadeptattheirrole,atthesummer’sendtheycouldberesponsibleforputtingtogetherthefrontthreepagesofournewspaper,actingaseditor.•Managementstyle--thereisnohandholding-welcometotherealworld.We’renotthetypetohoveroveranyone.Wewanttheinterntobeconfident,talentedandexperiencedandgainaninsightintotheworkingworldasitwillbewhentheygetoutofcollege.
