Working with THREADED MessagesMessages in FirstClass are threaded, meaning common messages are kept together.
If you see a + or – sign in the message line, it means the message is linked, or threaded, with another message.
Clicking on the + sign will expand the list of threaded messages, and clicking on the – sign will collapse the list to only the last message in the thread.
Watch as the cursor is clicked on the plus and minus signs to expand and collapse the list of threaded messages. If you click on the + sign in
the header area, every list of threaded messages will be expanded or collapsed at the same time.

Address Book: Personal Address
Used for individual email addresses
Have you ever had to type in a LOOONNNGGG internet email address many times?
Want an easy way to address email to those people you communicate with often?
Wouldn’t it be nice to just type in Jones in the TO: line instead of [email protected]?
If so, you are ready to create and use a Personal Address!
Adding a Personal Address the EASY way!
Open a message that was received from the person you want to add to your Address Book.
Right-click on the address on the From: line.
Select Add to Address Book… from the popup menu.
This will open the New Personal Address window, and as you can see, the Internet email address is entered for you.
To make it even easier to address your messages, you can enter a short name in the Name field. You will use this name to in the TO: line of any FirstClass message instead of the longer, harder to remember Internet address!

Address Book: Personal Mail List
Mailing lists are GREAT if you need to send a message to a group of people.
You never need to worry about forgetting a member of the group.
You can send a message to MANY people with only ONE name in the TO: line. For example, you can set up a Mail List of all your parents, and then quickly send them ALL a message with only one entry in the TO: line. Here’s how!
Select File New New Personal Mail List
Enter as many addresses as you want in this area. Internet address have a blue gate on the left, and FirstClass users have a red and blue person. You can mix and match as you like.
Enter a name for the list. You will use this to address your message in the TO: line of a new message.
To finish entering your Mail List and Save it, click the close box in the upper right corner.
Click Save in the Save Changes? Dialog box.
