Present Node-b connectivityPresent 3G network of the Jaipur is designed with 310 Node-

B and Type 3 RNC. The Hub - Sub Hub – NodeB architecture is being adopted. At each Node-B 3E1 are considered for the design. Out of the these 310 Node-B 279 Node-Bs are integrated in the network. So there are HUB – 12 . Fiber is available at these location.SUB HUB – 50. Fiber is available at these location.Node B – 248. Out of this Node B Connectivity there are 65 NodeB are on M/W and 2 NodeB are on HDSL.

Proposed Node B Connectivity

Page 13: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

RNC will be connected to NIB network via 1+1 optical GE Port. A single aggregated connectivity for all the nodes will be provided. The complete aggregation of the all the Node B will be done in NIB network. All the Node-B will be connected to NIB network in star topology.Node-B which will not be connected in IP

network. Will be connected via Chanalized STM.

Page 14: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

New connectivity is divided into five typesType1 : NodeB --- Tier2 – RNCType2 : NodeB --- FTTH– Tier2 – RNCType3 : NodeB --- CPE8 – Tier2 – RNCType4 : NodeB --- CPE8 – FTTH – Tier2 –RNCType5 : NodeB --- 3 E1 – Chanalized STM –RNCType 6: Node B---FE to 8E1/16 E1 convertors/WDM splitter

Type of Connectivity

Page 15: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

In this connectivity Node B will be directly connected to tier2 network of the NIB which in turn will be connected to RNC.

Type 1 Connectivity

Page 16: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

For this type the connectivity will made using FTTH and tier2 of the NIBFor the southbound connectivity FTTH uses DWDM on single fiber. So ONT will be required which will provide four FE ports. ONT and its installation is to be arranged by BSNL. No other equipment will be connected to this ONT to provide full bandwidth to NodeB.

Type3 connectivity is defined as NodeB --- CPE8 –Tier2 At present CPE8 are having the SFP with 1310nm while SFP at tier2 are having 1550nm. So it is required to change the SFP in CPE8.

Type 4 Connectivity

Page 19: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

This connectivity will be used for remaining NodeBs i.e. NodeB on M/W (65) and HDSL (2). 67 NodeBs falls under this category. These Node B will be connected via chanalised STM. One Chanalized card support one STM so it will be required to procure 5 chanalized card by BSNL.Three E1 from 15 NodeB will be

multiplexed in to one chanalized STM by the BSNL. This STM will be connected to RNC.

Type 5 Connectivity

Page 20: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

FE to 8E1 convertors for the sites without IP connectivity as of now can be deployed This will ensure an all IP 3G network to the extent possibleThere can be the possibility of using a WDM splitter to extend Node B IP interface to Nearest Tier 2 location at some of the sitesThe E1 ports spare in RNC can be utilised to increase the no of E1s where IP connectivity is not possible under any of the methods

Type 6 Connectivity

Page 21: -14.4-Mbps in 3g Network Guideline

RNC will be connected to NIB at tier2 with 1+1GE port.Optical GE port will be used for the same. Wavelength for the same will be 1550nm.
