Personality
Personality - The unique combination of traits that make you an individual. These traits include behaviors, attitudes, feelings, and ways of thinking that are characteristic of you.

Extrovert – Friendly and outgoing personality
Introvert – Less outgoing and thoughts are directed inward.
Optimist – Someone who focuses on positive.
Pessimist – Someone who looks at the negatives and expects the worst.

Assertive – Able to stand up for yourself and express your feelings in a nonthreatening way.
Passive – Holding back your feelings and yielding to others
Aggressive – Communicating your ideas and feelings in a forceful or threatening way.

Mental Health – the state of being comfortable with yourself, others, and surroundings.

weaknesses. 2. Able to take on the responsibility of daily
living. 3. Caring toward themselves and others. 4. Able to handle disappointment and learn
from them. 5. Able to feel enjoyment and a sense of
achievement.
How is our personality formed?
Psychologists state that there are two ways our personality is formed.
1. Heredity – passing from parent to offspring just like hair color and eye color.
2. Environment or Surroundings For the most part, personality is a
combination of both.

Children learn about feelings, attitudes and appropriate ways of behaving from the people close to them.

As children grow older and get into teenage years, friends, school, and community become increasingly important influences on personality.
American teenagers spend more than half their time with other teens.
Peer group – people about the same age group with the same interests.
