Kelly the Silverback Gorilla at the Gorilla exhibit

He is the ruler of

groups of females

in the exhibit.

Orangutans before they started mating

Before they

started to mate,

the male

orangutan was

grooming the

female orangutan

Chimpanzee exhibit

They walked

around in a line

several times…it

seemed as if they

were patrolling

their territory.

(only the male

chimps were out

for exhibit)

We were able to

listen to the

sounds they

produced and the

swelling of their

throat.

In this picture

you can see the

swelling of his

throat. Each one

produced a

different sound,

it’s territorial.

Langers

It was difficult to

obtain a good

picture of them

they moved very

quickly!

Emperor Tamarin

I wasn’t able to

spot this one but I

thought it was

interesting that it

is named after an

Austrian emperor

that had a similar

mustache. They

live in Brazil and

Peru and weigh

less than a pound.
