DAYTON - Clement E. Meserve, 77, of 11 Smith Road, a local fanner, died Monday in Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Saco.

He was born here, son of Clarence and Lilla Fogg Meserve, and attended local schools.

Mr. Meserve was a fanner here all his working life. In 1968, he went to work for the Maine Turnpike Authority and retired in 1978.

During the 1970s , he served this town as a selectman.

He was a 5Q-year member of Arion Masonic Lodge and the Saco Grange. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Pauline Johnson Meserve; two sons, Clement E. Jr. and Eugene, and two daughters, Margaret Wormwood and Sandra Meserve Catrush, all of Dayton; three sisters, Ruth Columbe of Framingham, Mass., and Charlotte Anderson and Caro­line Mullen, both of Dayton; and seven grandchildren.

Frank W. Meserve Jr. Navy veteran, nuclear power worker

FALMOUTH - Frank W. Meserve Jr, 73, of Green­way Drive died Friday in a Portland hospital following a prolonged illness. .

He was born in Portland, a son of Frank W. Sr. and Gertrude Winters Meserve. He attended Portland schools.

He ser;oed in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Mr. Meser;oe had retired as a nuclear power inspector 'at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

A 32-{!egree Mason, he was a member of Cornerstone Lodge. He also was a member of Kora Shrine and the Lakes Region Shrine Club, the Naval ~iniwarfare Association and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

A son, Charles E. Meserve, died in 1978. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Bernice E. Paro

Meser.-e of Falmouth; a daughter, Betty Lou Meser;oe­Doucette of Falmouth, and two grandchildren.

Services will be private. Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland
