Acting Principal
Only Our Best, Everyone, Everyday
To all the families and friends of WoodLinks State School
It is my absolute pleasure to join you next semester as the Acting Principal of
this fabulous school.
I am married to the beautiful Helen and we have two adult children. As a
person, I enjoy off-road cycling, drive a hot rod, spend time with our canine
companions, am a Brisbane Broncos/ Ipswich Jets fan, write poetry and write
reviews on music releases and concerts. If I have a mantra, it’s that we should
change the world for the better, one deliberate act at a time.
I have been a teacher for 33 years and a principal for the last 26 of those. I
have been fortunate to have worked in Brisbane, the Brisbane Valley, far
north Queensland and western Queensland. This time has taught me that we
don’t build cars and we don’t make paint: we are just people working with people and that relationships are all we have.
I look forward to walking alongside you on the journey that will be the next 6
months.
Regards
Greg
As we approach holidays I would like to thank every family for their ongoing
support of the school and of myself during my time at WoodLinks. I have felt
very privileged to have been welcomed into the school and to be able to
learn more about your wonderful children. I would like to welcome Greg
Noble as the incoming Principal and acknowledge his experience and
expertise.

Regional Athletics Carnival
The Regional Athletics Carnival was held last week on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th June. The
Carnival was held at QSAC, Nathan and WoodLinks had five students represent the school and the
Comets District. Congratulations to Tyrell 5B, Demelza 5A, Lisa-Maree 5A, Chandra 6C and
Allira 6C who attended and demonstrated the WoodLinks value of “Only our best, Everyone,
Everyday”. A special mention goes to Lisa-Maree for finishing third in her 200m race and to Allira for
finishing first in shot put and third in discus. Both girls will now be competing in the Athletics State
Title even at QSAC early next term.
Fantastic effort girls!
“Never give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to
handle the win with the dignity that we absorbed the loss.”

Do you struggle to find the funds for Excursions / Incursions / SRS?
Do you receive Centrelink Payments?
If so: are you aware that you can set up a deduction from your Centrelink fortnightly payments to
come to the school? If you are interested in finding out more or how to set up this deduction please
come into the office. We are also awaiting discussion with the P&C to see if it can include Uniforms
and book packs (obviously a credit amount would be required before being able to use these funds
for this).

Dear Families,
We been given the opportunity to move to the hall due to our increase in
bookings. Over the next couple of weeks we will be preparing for our move
which the children are all excited for. Within this move we will be changing
the way we program, making it more inviting and informative for all parents
to be able to see what we have planned for the term. This program will be
displayed in the parent area at the service, we’d love to hear your feedback
come term 3.
Our relaunch day will be Term 3 Day one. We will also be holding a sausage
sizzle for the families at the school in the afternoon to come look at our new
space, to ask any question and to provide any feedback.
Love for you all to come along come Term 3 Day one
Kindest Regards,
Camp Australia Woodlinks
