Message from your President

It’s hard to believe 2013 is half way over! We have done so much

so far. We have had some great meetings. Dorothy Saviste and her

networking presentation was one of my favorites.

Sharyl has done a great job with her team to bring in new members

and working to bring back some former ones. We still need more

Realtor members to keep our ratios up.

Had a great time at Blue Pointe this last week. Thanks to Jean Vogel

for setting it up.

Speaking of Jean, she and I spent a few days in Washington DC in May at the NAR Mid

Year Convention. This is where much of the National WCR work is done. We were able

to participate in great classes, networking, etc. We also got to go to some fabulous restau-

rants.

This month we celebrated our District V annual meeting at Paseo with a challenging and

inspiring panel of our own superstars and then State President spoke. She gifted each of

us with an insulated tumbler with her motto “Dream, Believe, Achieve.”

Recently we had a Shred Day. I think this would be a great service project/fund raiser for

our chapter each year. We all have papers that need to be shredded better than what the

home shredders do.

I’m excited about the event that Inge is planning for July 13th. Stay tuned and plan to be

involved.

Come to the monthly business meetings, be involves, maximize the benefits of your mem-

We have been busy with Lunch and Learns hosted by JJ Jones, very well attended by members and potential members with themes such as Identi-ty Theft, Social Media, Negotiations, Goal Setting, etc. Our themed Luncheons have been exciting with high profile presenters from city plan-ning to leadership. Our Membership Drive hosted by Plantation was very timely - just look at how new construction is taking off! This past week-end our chapter hosted the first "Shred Day" interfacing community ser-vices such as security for business and home, safety/security advisors from South Trail and Iona McGregor Fire Districts, drop off for clothing and household items through church sponsored Thrift Shop, Teen Chal-lenge carwash, and Miracle Children Network presentation by Michael Frye of Re/Max Realty Group who donated the parcel for the event, fur-thered sponsored by Amerivest Realty, Pat Huether and Sharyl Leifeld. Our Blue Point Mixer on June 20th at Bell Tower, organized by Jean Vo-gel - was a huge success, great food, great mixing - everyone wants more of these! Our line officers represented us at district and state level training, and the June 14th District V luncheon at Paseo showcased the many accom-plishments of southwest Florida WCR chapters, including state and na-tional officers. Stay tuned for the upcoming annual "Cross Over" event with our sister WCR Chapter in Cape Coral

Reimbursement will be distributed on a percentage basis depending on amount budgeted for the year and the number of mem-

bers who request reimbursement. The following classes may be submitted for reimbursement

Classes offering only continueing education credits DO NOT qualify.

The member must be in good standing having attended at least 5 Business Resource meetings within the current year and

must hold their primary membership in the Fort Myers Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors. Reimbursement requests

for courses taken within the current year must be submitted in writing on a Check Request form with original receipt (s)

Attached by November 30th of the current year. Check requests forms can be obtained from the treasurer.
