viewed as a masculine career. It is often

associated with high level mathematical competence, individualistic working conditions, and low levels of social skills”.

How Changing a Button Increased a Site's Annual Revenues by US$300 Million (Jan 2009)http://www.uie.com/articles/three_hund_million_button/

A form, intended to make shopping easier, turned out to only help a small percentage of the customers who encountered it.

The designers fixed the problem simply. They took away the Register button. In its place, they put a Continue button with a simple message.

The results: The number of customers purchasing went up by 45%. The extra purchases resulted in an extra $15 million the first month. For the first year, the site saw an additional $300,000,000.

“I been looking at your poster in the hallway for weeks. I’m interested in what you guys do. It’s amazing! I work in IT Security down the corridor ...”
