Concealed CarryPermit Classes
The “Almost Nationwide Permit”* ClassThis permit is valid in 35 states and includes every other state where it is legal for an Oregon resident to carry, except for 4 states. Includes vital information that you need
to know about that we just do not have time to explain in the Oregon class and is highly recommended you attend even if you do not travel out of state. Ten states (including
California) generally prohibit Oregon residents from carry within their borders. We refer to this class as the “How To Stay Out of Jail Class”.
All attendees will receive a 51 page booklet on training and regulations.
Both classes are non-NRA affiliated. Memberships in the National Rifle Association (NRA) will be offered at a discount at class. Membership is not required to attend. Optional live-fire training available at a
later date, including personal defense training classes to attendees.
Joe Holdmann, NRA Training CounselorNRA Chief Range Safety Officer
Utah Dept. of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Identification Certified Instructor

A COMMUNITY THANK YOU
FROM THE LA PINE COMMUNITY KITCHEN
We at the La Pine Community Kitchen, board members and volunteers, would like to thank all those who have tirelessly
supported us monetarily and with labor so that we can continue to provide services to individuals, families, veterans and seniors
affected by the economy in our community. Your donations of money and labor have helped fund a variety of our services, such as, the kitchen for hot meals, the pantry for
emergency food boxes, the produce stand for fresh vegetables, fruits and perishable items, the clothes closet for clothing, bedding and hygiene items, our pet food program and our fire wood program. Thanks to your willingness to give freely of your valuable time
and your resources, the lives of many people affected by the economy will be improved. When you see the work being done at the La Pine Community Kitchen you’ll be able to know that your kindness played an important role in making these services
possible.Your generosity makes a huge difference in the lives of many
people. The La Pine Community Kitchen couldn’t be effective without the help of selfless people in this community. We want to make sure that all of you know just how much your efforts have
been appreciated, as well as how much your continued willingness to support the La Pine Community Kitchen is valued.

WHAT IS A VACCINE?Why Should My Pet Get Them?
A vaccine improves or supports immunity to a particular disease or virus. They are usually made from a weakened or killed form of the disease or virus. Once the modified microbe is introduced into the pet’s system, their immune system creates a memory to more easily fight and destroy any later encounter with the same microorganism. Vaccines your pet receives help protect them from diseases and viruses such as: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Para Influenza, Rabies and Kennel Cough - some of which are potentially fatal. Vaccination is the best line of defense for your pet!

“We are the hub of the business community, promoting commerce and tourism making La Pine a vibrant community to work, live and play!”
PRAIRIE HOUSE • Manager: Judy CantrellSo, Judy, when did you open your Prairie House? “Prairie House opened its doors to serve community elders on October 22, 1999. I became the Administrator of Prairie House in January 2007.”Who are the main players at Prairie House? “I consider all elders, employees and families to be the “main players” at Prairie House. e Assistant Administrator is Rachel Bonine-Kendall. e Department Managers are Steven Mays, Resident Care Coordinator; Allyson Maes, R.N.; Michelle Carlson, Life Enrichment Coordinator; Linda Miller, Dietary Director; Lance Fugate, Maintenance Director; Candace Holder, Memory Care Coordinator and Jackie Flanery, Housekeeping Supervisor. We have an awesome group of caregivers here who make each day full of JOY, INDEPENDENCE AND WELLNESS!”Why do you work, live and play in La Pine? “La Pine has been “home” to us since 2005. We love the area and the feel of a more relaxed lifestyle.”What is the potential for growth for your business? “Currently, we are working to add 2 more units to our Memory Care Community with a larger patio area for them to enjoy the outdoors. I don’t see a larger expansion in our near future.”What is your business’s greatest challenge? “ e hurt that comes when our loved ones pass away is hard. We get attached to the people we care for and losing them is painful. Keeping our apartments full is also sometimes a challenge and the reverse, when we are full, it is frustrating not to be able to help someone needing a place.”What is the biggest highlight of your career? “ e accomplishment of 35 years of making a life worth living for elders in diff erent communities I have served.”What do you do to relax? “I love to shop… I LOVE St. Vinnie’s!”Tell us something about yourself that few people know about: “I am a PK!”In terms of volunteering in the community, what is your personal contribution to the community? “Prairie House has been an active player in many community events. As a group, we all take part in making sure our elders stay involved and have a choice in making their contributions to the community of La Pine.”What are your plans for the future? “To be someone to somebody. I am a people person and love being a mentor and seeing others succeed. I am currently studying the subject of Christian Counseling.”What advice would you give to community leaders? “Be a 'Bucket-Filler', NOT a 'Bucket-Dipper'. When we fi ll others’ buckets, our own bucket is also fi lled. is is a philosophy that can profoundly infl uence our relationships, productivity, health and happiness… ultimately making La Pine a better place to live!”Do you have a mission? "Our Prairie House mission is about creating environments where moments of joy, independence and wellness are the focus each and every day. Our vision is elder-directed living providing a transition to an expanded life.” e Chamber is grateful to the Prairie House for all of the wonderful things that it does to help us in the community.

Your safety and our driver’s safety is the number one priority at
Wilderness Garbage. Here are some reminders that you, our
customer, need to know: If the weather or road conditions
become severe, we will not put people or property at risk. Our trucks may be able to travel the main roads, but due
to the size and weight, may not be able to navigate your street or driveway.
WE CANNOT PUTDRIVERS OR TRUCKS AT RISK.
It is the discretion of the route driver whether to drive down a street or
driveway. If our truck cannot pick up your garbage, we will pick up double
your service amount the following week.
• Keep access to roll carts clear of snow and ice.• Roll carts must be on street side of snow berms.• Roll carts must be 4’ from all objects, including vehicles, mailboxes, address signs, etc.• If roll cart is in an enclosure, there needs to be a shoveled path to the enclosure.• Roll carts may need to be left out of enclosure.• Where truck access is required, a 12’ wide plowed path is needed.• Where the driver leaves the roll cart is where it needs to be left for future service, during snow and ice conditions.
RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS
• Keep access to containers clear of snow and ice.• Where truck access is required, a 12’ wide plowed path is needed.• Containers in enclosures may need to be left out of enclosure.• Containers must be on level surface so that the truck can hook up to, and dump, container. No berms in front of container or enclosure.• Where the driver leaves the container is where it needs to be left for future service during snow and ice conditions.
Wilderness Garbage’s number one concern is always safety. This is why we are asking for your help now, before the extreme conditions
arrive, so you know what our procedure will be. If conditions do result in delays, we will update our website and notify the local media. You can also call our
office. If after regular hours, please listen to the whole message.
