WHEN THE RAIN COMES
WHEN THE RAIN COMES
A county estate, rows of servants await
To carry out every whim
A manicured lawn, a charming salon
I've all that I need but him
As I walk through the halls, an emptiness calls
And somehow I can't explain
And when no ones around, I hunger for sound
And find myself talking to the rain
And when the rain comes, I wake again
From this endless sleep I call my life
And tell myself that nothing's changed
I'm still his friend, if not his wife
And as the wind sighs
I think of eyes and how they don't look in mine
The rain says he's gone still I carry on
Pretending that everything is fine
And when the rain comes I'm not alone
Its echo holds me in the night
And whispers, speaks and how it sings
Granting me a second sight
I see him as he used to be
For the look of love he held for me'
If I turn the back the days could I find him yet
Or was our past just made to forget
And when the rain comes, he here's again
Still he's gone when he is near
At last I learn of his return
But it's lonlier when he's here once again
And I wonder was he ever really here
