What is Android

Android is a Linux-based operating system designed for touch screen mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet, computers. Initially developed by android but Google bought android in 2005.The first Android powered phone was sold in Oct 2008.

Android has a large community of developers for writing applications that extend the functionality of the devices, it is a customized version of the Java programming language.

In Oct 2012, approx 700,000 applications available for android, this is the estimated number of application downloaded from Google Play. A developer survey conduct in April - May 2013 and we found that android is the most popular platform for the developers.
