What Happened?
Somebobody please fill me in........
I've read all sorts of things as to this meltdown. Good, Bad, and indifferent. But the worst part is mostly
bad. Other watch forums are out there celebrating and bragging about the down time and the lack of
info that we as WatchGeeks could not get at. So someone out there, Meijin, Please fill me and the
others in. We deserve an explanation as to what has and is happening............

The site was hacked the day I left on my vacation to Las Vegas. There was nothing that I could do until I
returned home since I took no computer with me. It is now back up and running.
The WatchLards and their ilk are morons who have nothing better to do other than talk smack about that
which they don't know and can't understand.
Also moving this to an appropriate forum.
ps - Those with Facebook knew what was going on Thursday.

Not to crazy about FaceBook. They ask too many questions and the vulnerability of you and your info has
little to no control. So if I get lost, I know how to read a map and a compass. I will find my way
eventually. Thanks for the offer though........

Watch Lords?? I would never give any credence to those fellows, because their only reason to exist is to
bash this site. Without that central theme, there is no other content! If the folks had a positive reason to
exist, perhaps it might be worth some of our time...... JMHO

Occassionally I will pull some of their posts up by mistake when doing a search on the web. All you have
to do is read the hate, venom and profanity that comes from the vast majority of the posters to see that
there is no class in Lordville.

There's nothing wrong with Timex watches. As their ads used to say, they "take a licking and keep on
ticking" and, which wasn't part of the ads, they don't cost you an arm and a leg. They're perfectly
functional, not overly expensive time keeping devices.

Rich, I agree with you. That site is full of hate and anger. I really don't see it
though. This is a hobby, not a way of life or a means of survival. These people
seem to spend all their time towards a (negative) watch forum and seem to
have forgotten about life altogether. Their primary goal being bashing and
denegrading anyone and everyone associated with WatchGeeks.Net. Until this
happened, I never heard of Watchlords......
It makes me wonder what else do they have or consider important to their way
of life. Don't get me wrong, I love my watch collection, but if it has to, it can be
replaced.
I'm glad WatchGeeks is back up and the REAL WATCH FORUM is ALIVE and
well.........

I have to admit I never heard of or visited Watch Lords until this week when Geeks went down....All I'll
say is this :
After only 1 day of searching that site I deleted it from my Favs list.
They were the most unprofessional, vulgar bunch of haters I have ever been witness to.
Wow ... really really bad.
Glad Geeks is up again

Did anyone as a result of this vacation go through "withdrawl" symptoms and realize they had become
dependent on WG's?
Anyone make changes as a result, like committing to spend more time with family and such? Just
curious, I did...

I did visit other sites and could not believe all the hate. All the B.S. just assured me that this is the place I
would rather be. Count on my loyalty not wavering for one second Michael. I know the geeks here are
stronger than ever, so folks we need to put this behind us and let the big guys deal with the jerks. Hope
ya'll are fine and I look forward to the usual fun, creativity and well informed threads (like always). JoJo

First off I would like to thank Mike Davis for getting the forum back online...Second, Given the
motivation of the person or persons in question that hacked this site, I would hope that the mods that
helped to restore watchgeeks back to its former glory have taken into consideration that the ones who
perpetrated this act will likely do it again and again....So I hope that proper security measures were
taken to insure that this incident doesn't happen again...I also hope that Mike D and the owners of this
forum will take find those responsible for the 'hacking' breach of security and contact their respective
ISP's..I'm sure this little stunt is not in keeping with the hacker's ISP TOS...
Thanks again to Mike D., the Mods and to IWG for restoring the site..
Jon

I did break down and check out facebook to get some updates, and there are some good people there,
some that would fit in here very well, I think. I personally still don't get the facebook craze though.
It might be good on a personal level, if you have a manageable number of friends on your wall, but 8000
people posting and no way to organize it? Not for me, thanks for getting watchgeeks back up!

Watch Lords?
I've been a member here since the end of '09 and I seem to learn something new each time
I get on to this site. What is 'Watch Lords' and why do they hate us? I'm a little naive here.
Thanks.

Sorry Mike
I apologize Mike, and do hope you had a great vacation. I saw your posts on Facebook and
all could think was what a bummer to have to come back to a mess. Again, thanks. Like
most, I get onto this site daily.

It's nice to see we didn't disappoint the Lords of Flatbush. They said we would be posting
how glad we were that WGs was back up. What they don't understand is that we are also
glad that we don't have to read any more of their feces. I could only stand about 2 min. of it
and had to go take a shower. That place is like pergatory for banned ex geeks who couldn't
live with the TOS over here.

Many, many thanx, Michael for getting us back on line. It was a rough few days. I
do hope that some sort of legal action can be taken to prevent this sort of thing
from happening again. Some folks really need to be shown the error of their ways.

Welcome back watchgeeks.net
I was beginning to have withdrawl symptoms from not being able to check the daily mail at
watchgeeks .
Am happy you guys are back up .
I bought several new watches from Android while we were down , the Armor 50 , in the
orange and the green while on sale .
beautiful timepieces will show pic's later .
Did anyone else pick up something new during our little rendezvous with the bad people .

Glad to see the site back up and running again. Fortunately looked at other sites
during the absence and just ensured the fact that this one is the best! There are
some really senseless sites out there!!!!

I must say as a person who does not use fasebook or anything of the like I really could not
find any information about what was going on. I felt so left out in the dark and wondered if
something I had posted got me banned. I could think of nothing I could have done.
Well while trying to find some info I was directed to the other watch forum. This gave me
such a laugh. I have never read so many hatefull posts. You would think from their ranting
that Watchgeeks is the biggest threat to America. I showed some of the posts to my wife and
we had some good laughs. WOW - Watchgeeks has really got under thier skirts for some
reason.
Makes me all the more pround to belong to Watchgeek power. We are such bad bad persons
collecting watches over here.

Glad you're back Michael!!! and Thanks for getting this site back up and running, I think we
all missed it.
To briefly address the "hacking" issue, I assume WG administration or whoever can prove
who did the hacking? Otherwise, as an attorney, I would advise everybody here to refrain
from accusing people of committing federal offenses without proof. Liable and Slander suits
come immediately to mind. Just my unsolicited 2 cents worth.
as you were...........
