How can we find books in the school library?
In the story we read last time, Lola had a problem:the book she wanted was not available because someone else borrowed it.
She had to find a different book to borrow!
Browsing
• Sometimes we can find a new book to read by browsing—looking at the books on display and walking around the library.
Searching
• Other times we know what we are looking for in a book—an exact title, or author or subject.
• We know what we want, but we may not know how to find it.
Readers know they can see what books the library has by using the catalog.
They use the call number to find the book on the shelf. E
