What are mandalas?

concentric geometric forms, images of deities, etc. It is often used to symbolise the universe, totality, or wholeness in Hinduism and Buddhism

What are they used for?• The mandala pattern is used in many

religious traditions. For example, 12th Century nuns created many beautiful mandalas to express her visions and beliefs.

• In Asia, the Taoist "yin-yang" symbol represents opposition as well as dependence on one another. Tibetan mandalas are often highly intricate illustrations of religious significance that are used for meditation
