▶ 1 credit in Algebra 2▶ 1 credit in Statistics or equally rigorous math course▶ 1 credit in Chemistry or Physics▶ 1 credit in a course equally rigorous to chemistry or physics▶ 2 credits in the same world language▶ 1 credit in AP, IB, AICE, or a dual enrollment course▶ Pass the Biology, US History, Algebra II (juniors only), and Geometry EOCs

▶ **Students in AP level classes do not typically take the EOC, you WILL need to take, and pass, the State EOC in order to qualify for the scholars diploma.

▶ **Contact Ms. Wells if you need to take an EOC assessment in order to qualify for scholars.

Merit Diploma

Industry certification is a credential that documents the level of technical skill mastery an individual has achieved. Each career field has a specific certification that is recognized throughout that industry for technical skills.

Biliteracy SealGold Seal of Biliteracy or Silver Seal of Biliteracy will be awarded to students who have earned a standard high school diploma and who:

GOLD- Earn 4 world language courses in the same language with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a Level 4 or higher on the Grade 10 English Language Arts Florida Standards Assessment, or earn a score or performance level on any of the examination that the district offers (AP Exam, SAT Subject test)

SILVER- Earn 4 world language courses in the same language with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; or earn a score or performance level on any of the examination that the district offers (AP Exam, SAT Subject test)

Taking AP classes Senior Year…

▶ I don’t think I will pass (or score high enough) on the AP exam, since I have not yet passed one.▶ Yes, many colleges grant credit, or placement, with a score of a 3 but they are

looking to select students who are taking rigorous classes.

▶ I’ve already taken AP classes and I want to have a less demanding schedule.▶ Your decision to take an AP course shows admissions officers that you are willing to

take on the academic challenge of college-level coursework.

▶ Colleges are looking to see if you are continuing to push yourself your senior year.

Valencia Spring Dual Enrollment▶ College credit awarded through Valencia for

taking classes on their campus (or online through VC)
