Spouse of SM serving on active duty when they receive orders to relocate; or

Un-remarried widow or widower of an SM who was killed while on active duty in the armed forces; it does not have to be combat related.

Offers personalized services to connect service members and military families to opportunities and resources in their future communities, wherever they may be.

Transition Specialists work individually with service members and military spouses throughout the transition lifecycle.

*Active Duty – 12 Months prior to separation – 6 months after separation.

Transition Specialists are USO employees that work with service members and military family members to developtailored Action Plans around 8 focus areas.

Through free one-on-one support, a USO Transition Specialist will work to develop a personalized Action Plan that will provide all applicableresources that will make a person’s transition successful. All of the provided resources are free of charge and from reputable organizations. These services are provided to:

1. Transitioning or Recently Transitioned Active Duty Service Members (12 months prior to separation – 6 months after separation)

2. Military Spouses (at any time during their service member’s career)

3. National Guard and Reserve Components (at any time during their career)

Army Community Services Volunteer Support Association

• The Army Community Service Volunteer Support Association (ACSVSA) is a non-profit organization, that has been in operation for over 30 years and was approvedfor 501(c)(3) status in 2011. We are located at Fort Benning, Georgia and areauthorized to operate on the military installation. The purpose of the ACSVSA is toensure and support the well-being of Soldiers, their Families and volunteers ofArmy Community Service (ACS) through events, activities and educational materialof several of ACS programs to fill the gap where appropriated government fundingcannot be used.

• As a volunteer run 501(c)(3), operated by active duty service members, spouses,retirees, surviving spouses and Department of the Army Civilians, all of ourcontributions benefit the Soldiers and Families of Fort Benning.
