Design Career Services tracks and reports the professional activity of College of Design six months following graduation.
Highlights from 2014-2015
• 96% of College of Design bachelor’s degree recipients were employed, continuing their education, or were not seeking employment.
• 97% of master’s degree recipient were employed or continuing their education.
• College of Design graduates have gone to work in 42 U.S. states and 11 countries in the past five years.
Multicultural Student Programs
The College of Design's Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO), Audrey Kennis, provides assistance to students in navigating the university system.

Core Design Program GOALS AND OUTCOMES
WHAT a common set of studio and lecture classes for all students entering the College of Design
WHY to create a shared language, experience, and community that exposes you to all disciplines in the College of Design, and provides equal opportunity to all skill levels
THROUGH THIS COMMON CORE, YOU WILL: • Develop a rich, rigorous base for a future in any of the professional degree programs; • Learn about many art and design disciplines so that you may make more informed degree choices and apply to multiple programs at the end of your first year; • Experiment with interdisciplinary work at the earliest stage of your college education; • Build a foundation for lifelong learning, no matter your eventual educational and career paths.

DSN S 102: DESIGN STUDIO I
This is a studio course that explores the interaction of two-and three-dimensional design. Emphasis is on fundamental skills and ideas shared across design disciplines, including investigation of creative process, visual order and materials, and development of critical thinking through studio projects and lectures.

DSN S 131: DESIGN REPRESENTATION
This is a studio course that introduces students to drawing through lecture and studio experiences. Emphasis is on perceptual, conceptual, and evaluative abilities through experiences that build eye, brain, and hand coordination.

This is a broad-based exploration of the dynamic relationship between design and culture, employing case study method to investigate particular examples of cultural production in contemporary society.

After completion of the Core Design Program:
1. Application Form • The application process begins with completion of the online application form. • This must be completed prior to submitting your portfolio. • You may elect to apply to more than one program. 2. Completing the Essay • Applicants must go to one of the Testing Centers on campus to write the
required essay 3. Submitting Your Portfolio • The online application form must be filled out before submitting your portfolio. • Portfolios must be submitted on Friday of finals week during the Spring term 4. Other considerations: • GPA of the Core courses
o This includes the top 26 credits of the core except for Architecture, which take only the four DSN S courses plus MATH 145 or PHYS 111
• High School information o Architecture and Interior Design use this information when making
decisions
