to the 40th Class Reunion

July 24-25th 2015

It’s been a long time since we left school, and our families to make our way into the world and find the

lives we were looking for…

And learning to accept what life held in store for us...

Well, it’s now 40 years later and we’re still here. Living, as we will, along the journey of life...

Wait! Stop the clock…

…and travel back in time with the aid of magicians Janet Olson and Jo Ringnalda

…way back in time 40+ years when…

High school was a big scary building, and you didn’t know what was going to happen when you first walked in that big door?

You had no idea what lay in store for you

You didn’t know where to sit at lunch time…

Or what to eat – Congo bars?

Remember how crowded with students it was -you could hardly get to your locker…

If could you even find your locker…

Remember passing through these doors?

And hallways…..

Do you remember...

Bellbottoms and hip-huggers, ponytails and halter tops?

Skipping class when the weather was nice?

Learning to type on electric typewriters?

When Mission Impossible was just a cool TV show?

Volkswagen bugs, student teachers, Slurpees at the 7Eleven?

When you thought all adults were SO old and stupid?

Deep Fried shrimp at Toa Yuen? Kimo’s drive in?

The A&W drive-in? Summer jobs at the cannery?

Track meets, football and baseball games, school plays?

Swimming in the high school pool ?

When the future was yours for the taking?

…our worries were few, like getting to class

…deciding who to hang out with

What classes to take and clubs to join

And who would be our friends…

Finally, after three years it was time to move on

How quickly those years passed…

We had no idea that our time here would go by so quickly

But we left school with memories...

And so, here we are - winning, losing, gaining, walking and talking, hoping, laughing crying, and celebrating... And living every day!

There have been many changes…

• We selected our first black president

• City of Detroit Michigan declared bankruptcy

• The legalization of recreational marijuana

What was acceptable at school then, isn’t today
