Senior Guidance

• We will be talking to each Senior English class in the next couple of weeks

• Please communicate with your Senior about upcoming deadlines

• This power point along with other valuable information is already posted on our website.

• Keep a file of EVERYTHING!!!!

ACT/SAT Testing

Highly consider taking both tests.

Check with individual colleges to determine their testing requirements.

Go to the ACT (www.act.org) or SAT (www.collegeboard.com) websites for practice tests and test taking hints.

Order your answers so you can go back and see what you missed. This can raise your score significantly!

CHS ACT BootcampPrinceton Review’s Online Course

October 15, 9:30-3:00, at CHS. We will host an intensive bootcamp for the ACT test. The curriculum includes a detailed summary of test structure, content review, and specific strategies to maximize effectiveness on the actual test. The course includes 1 practice test and answer key. Cost is $125 for one day, Saturday session.

The Princeton Review’s Online Student Center which contains 40-60 hours of instruction, SAT & ACT timed and untimed drills and glossary of most used terms. Cost is $45 per semester.

• When you contact the college keep a record of the date/time and

• Most colleges have numerous offices that work together.

Transcripts arrive and are entered at a different location than

your application. BE PATIENT but PERSISTENT!!

• The EARLIER you do everything the better off you will be!!!!

is please tell students to do things EARLY!!!!

Recommendations

• Think about who knows you and can attest to the quality of your work.

• Ask the person if he or she would be willing to write a letter for you. REMEMBER, the person is doing you a favor.

• Submit information about yourself (resume, brag sheet), the recommendation form (if there is one), and other pertinent information to the writer at least two weeks before it needs to be completed. Set your own deadline at least one week before you need to mail it.
