• Then, begin the Warm-up from the board.

Makeup Work• School Board policy allots two days per day absent to makeup work from absence.

• If the web site says that a certain assignment was checked or collected in your absence, write a note in your binder reminder, reminding yourself to hand that assignment in to your teacher. If the web site says that notes were taken in your absence, write a note in your binder reminder, reminding yourself to copy the notes from a classmate during silent reading immediately upon ]your return. Handing in the assignment is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY; your teacher will NOT remind you.

Questions, Discussion, Extra Help

• Questions are the most important part of learning. Please raise your hand.

• If you do not understand the material, need extra conference time on your writing, or have other problems, please let the teacher know before or after class to schedule a help session to be held before school.

Hall Passes• Sign out with the date, your name, time out, and destination. – This information stays on the teacher’s desk.

• Take the yellow pass with you. • When you return, write the time-in. Then, return to your seat.

• This pass is to be used for bathroom emergencies only.

• Handle other concerns before school, during lunch, during class change, or after school.

Substitute Teacher• You are responsible for following the classroom rules and acting appropriately at all times.

• Failure to do so at any time will result in an administrative referral for each offense.

• If a teacher asks you to do this, please politely tell him or her that you will not be able to do so.

• No other teacher can excuse you from English class. If you are on campus during English, then you must be in English class.

• Do not ask for it.

• The clinic will call home on your behalf.

• Do not ask for a clinic call if you have already done so in another class.

• If you have a medical emergency and/or need to go to the clinic, please inform Mrs. Arguello so that the situation can be handled with haste.

• several packs of loose-leaf notebook paper– Put an ample supply of paper in the clips and pockets of your folder.

• white computer paper (leave it a home to use with your printer)

• 3 x 5 note cards (leave them at home to create flashcards)

Supply ListWhat if I come without supplies?

• You are responsible for bringing all necessary materials to class each day.

• If you have forgotten your paper or pen, you should realize this at the beginning of the period; then, quietly and politely ask a classmate to lend you the missing materials. Please do not disturb your classmates while doing this.

• Your teacher is not able to provide basic supplies.

• Once the day’s lesson has begun, you will no longer be able to ask classmates to lend you supplies, you will not be able to participate in the activity, and your grade will be a zero. No student may share supplies with another after class has begun.

Supply List• Always be prepared.• Every Sunday night, put in your backpack a stack of loose-leaf paper (enough for one week) and at least one new black- or blue- ink pen.

English Textbook• Tomorrow, you will check out your textbook.– Bring your original schedule with the bar code.

• No textbook = grade reduction on that day’s assignment

End of Class Procedures

• ABSOLUTELY NO PACKING UP EARLY—VERY RUDE.– When given permission, pack up

belongings, check under desk, and take all personal belongings.

• Stay seated until bell rings. No lining up at door.

• The bell does not dismiss you. The teacher dismisses you.
