Our Prayer

That all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and

serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Awana is centered on the gospel.

Principle #1

Clear and Confusing Invitations

Will you invite Jesus into your heart?Confusing

Will you surrender your life to Christ? Confusing

Will you promise to follow Christ or commit yourself to Him?Confusing

Will you confess your sins and ask Jesus to forgive you? Confusing

Clear and Confusing Invitations

Will you make Christ the Lord of your life?Confusing

Are you willing to forsake all your sins to obtain salvation?Confusing

Will you give your heart to Jesus?Confusing

Clear and Confusing Invitations

Will you accept the Lord Jesus and trust Him as your personal Savior?Clear - This is biblically accurate. Nonbelievers must personally trust Christ to save them from the penalty of their sin.

Will you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the grave and, therefore, put your trust in Him?

Clear -This is biblically correct. The Bible’s use of the word “believe” means to place our trust in. In this context believe means to place my trust in the work of Christ.

Scripture memory is key.

Principle #2

Biblical Worldview:

Seeing the world through biblical lenses

and making choices accordingly.

Biblical Worldview:

• Jesus Christ lived a sinless life.

• God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe and still rules it today.

• Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned.

• Satan is real.

• Christians have a responsibility to share their faith with others.

• The Bible is accurate in all its teachings.

GOD

Psalm 119:105Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Scripture Memory Standards

• They should be word perfect.

• Two helps per section (a help contains no more than three or four words, and is any sort of hint that you give a clubber).

• If there’s more than one verse per section, they must be

said together.

• Must recite with the reference.

Awana is fun and exciting.

Principle #3

Discipline

• Discipline is related to the word disciple.• To disciple is to instruct.• Discipline is about teaching, not punishment.

Discipline Methods

• Positive points are used to reinforce good behavior.• The five-count is used for group discipline.• The three-count is for individual discipline.

Positive Points

• Sparks and T&T.• Give points through the entire club

meeting for various things.• Weight the points to emphasize the most

important things.

Children and youthare trained to serve.

Principle #4

Awana is builton strong leadership.

Principle #5

Qualifications of Leaders

Thank You for Serving!
