“I love this church for its exceptional Bible based teaching. This church offers so many opportunities for individuals to serve the body of Christ and to grow in His Word. Being a part of Connect
Church has helped me grow spiritually and I’m so thankful.” “I serve Jesus with you by assisting in the Kid’s Ministry as a K,1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher on Sunday mornings.”
If you are visiting with us for the first time, WELCOME!
We are glad it was your choice to worship Christ with us today.
We hope this time of praise and the study of God’s Word

We offer four services on two campuses

and inspiring worship.
And the heart of the weekly message

If you missed the prior auditions, we will host an additional audition on August 9th at 6 PM in the Children’s
Department on the Royal Palm campus. The wai JUNIOR is an extension of the Worship Arts Institute designed
specifically for kids ages nine to twelve years old. This program is based on the Orff Schulwerk approach to teaching
children music through singing, movement, rhythmic work, instrumental ensembles, improvisation, and music theory.
Through the wai JUNIOR kids learn to express themselves musically in increasingly challenging, but still fun ways.
Classes will be held on Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:45 PM beginning August 17th, on the Royal Palm Campus and will
run for 12 WEEKS. The tuition for this 12-Week premier program is $160 + $20 registration fee. Scholarships and
Discounts are available for qualifying families. For additional information and registration, please visit cc.today

Church Life
...God takes special care of faithful stewards. As
long as you are in a giving partnership with Him,
He makes sure you get everything you need,
exactly when you need it. That’s His offer…
True wealth is having everything you need when
you need it. And God is able to give you all
things, at all times—all that you need….
That should dispel all your fears about giving. In
fact, there’s really only one thing we should fear
when it comes to giving: holding back on God to
the extent that He is no longer involved in our
financial lives. The question you should ask
yourself is this: Who is better able to meet my
needs, me or God?

Acts 6: 15
God is in the business of changing the
face of the world. Let me be very clear.
This change is his job, not ours. Our
goal is not to make our faces radiant.
Our goal is not to conjure up some
fake, frozen expression. Our goal is
simply to stand before God with a
prepared and willing heart and then
let God do his work.
And he does. He wipes away the tears. He mops away the perspiration. He softens our furrowed brows.
He touches our cheeks. He changes our faces as we worship.
But there’s more. Not only does God change the face of those who worship, he changes those who watch us worship.
David cites the evangelistic power of honest worship: “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the LORD” Ps. 40:3

Memory Verse: Psalm 51:10
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Scripture: Psalm 146:1-10
Observation: No matter how powerful and how important man’s earthly existence, it is temporary. God is forever. He cares for those who are prisoners, who are blind, who are oppressed, who are exploited, those who are hungry and also the foreigner. He also cares for the fatherless and the widow. God made all creation and cares for all of His creation equally. He loves the righteous, but the way of the wicked will come to an abrupt end.
Application: If God cares for such a list of people I know He cares for me. What compassion! What love! It can’t be compared to any love coming from any of His creation, even you and me. Rather than being centered on God’s love for me I have been called to pass it on. How can I consider myself a child of God, saved by the blood of his son Jesus Christ, without caring for the prisoner, the blind, the oppressed, the exploited, the hungry or the foreigner? My great, great, great, great, great grandfather Aaron Hutcheson immigrated to this country in the 1700’s and landed in North Carolina. A foreigner. Thank God someone welcomed him to America. God hasn’t called me to be content in my good fortune and ignore the less fortunate. As Christians some of the greatest opportunities to introduce others to Jesus Christ come when we show compassion in their time of need. When we are compassionate we are exhibiting the love of God, as shown through the sacrifice he made through Jesus His Son.
Prayer: Lord may I see each person in need as an opportunity to show your love. May I not turn the other way, because it is inconvenient or a bother. May I not be so selfish with my time that I want to use it for my needs alone. My time, my physical health, my resources are all given to me by you. Help me to use it all in a way which brings glory to you. When I die may your plans for me have been fulfilled. Amen
How Do I SOAP? Today’s SOAP from Elder Clayton Hutcheson Scripture - Read the passage of Scripture for the day and allow God to speak to you. Look for a verse that spoke to you. Write it down.
Observation - Write your observation as to what is happening in the text. What do you believe is the point of the passage?
Application - Ask yourself how this Scripture applies to your life right now. Write down how it can apply to you today.
Prayer - This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this Scripture, or even a prayer for a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.

Scripture
1 Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. 2 I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.
3 Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save. 4 When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.
5 Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever, 7 executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The Lord frees prisoners. 8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are oppressed.
The Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord protects foreigners and helps the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates
the ways of the wicked.
10 The Lord reigns forever; Zion, your God reigns for all generations. Hallelujah!

Notes
Do you feel the love of the Lord (as do the righteous) or that He is frustrating your way. Turn your heart and life to Him through His Son Jesus Christ and experience happiness
that comes by placing your hope in Him.
