Hymn Festival Worship We will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Sunday, October 29, with a Hymn Festival Worship Service at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The theme will be Word & Sacrament. The Senior Choir will lead us in singing some of our favorite hymns along with scripture and the celebration of Holy Communion.
J.S. Bach’s Cantata
At 4 pm in the afternoon on October 29, our Senior Choir will be joined by the BGSU University Choral Society and a chamber orchestra in presenting J. S. Bach’s Cantata on Ein Feste Burg. This exciting work has eight short movements all based on Martin Luther’s Hymn “A Mighty Fortress.” Four faculty members from BGSU will join the combined chorus and orchestra as vocal soloists. In addition to the Bach Cantata, the concert will also feature congregational singing with Brian Bushong, trumpet, and solo organ pieces performed by Kevin McGill and Michael Gartz.
Following the concert will be a Harvest Festival
Harvest Festival Sunday, October 29, from 5:30 - 7pm, following the Bach Cantata, please join us for Trunk or Treat, Cider and Donuts, Games and Prizes. Children: Wear your Halloween Costume! Hot Dogs, Brats, Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, Coleslaw will be sold by the Youth Group as a fundraiser.

We Walk Because They Walk
CROP Hunger Walk
St. Mark’s Youth will be asking for donations for the annual CROP Hunger Walk which will take place October 15, at 1 pm, in the Bowling Green City Park. All proceeds for this event are used to feed those in need. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will go to the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.
October Noisy Offering: Crop (Communities Responding to
Overcome Poverty)
Neighbors from different faiths, cultures, and ages walk together to take a stand against hunger in our world. Hungry people in developing countries typically walk as much as six miles a day to get food, water, and fuel, and to take their goods to market. We walk to be in solidarity with their struggle for existence. We walk because they walk! CROP Hunger Walks help fight hunger and poverty around the world, including the United States. Up to 25% of what a CROP Hunger Walk raises can assist food banks, pantries, community gardens, and other lo-cal hunger-fighting initiatives. The annual Bowling Green CROP Walk will be held October 15, from 1-3 pm. We’ll meet at the Bowling Green City Park Kiwanis Shelter. Sponsor sheets are available from Amanda Rich.
If you wake up some morning and find that your front yard has sprouted a pumpkin patch, don’t panic! It means that your house has been SPROUTED by St. Mark's Youth! If the pumpkins appear on your lawn, the cost of removing them is $20.
