Student Take Home Packet/Cover Page Algebra 1-8th Grade

Dear Families: As ordered by the State Department of Education, all instructional services must cease from March 23rd through April 3rd. However, we can make review packets available to students/parents during this time. Daily Math Recommendations:

1. Complete daily assignment. 2. Do one lesson from IXL/USATestprep. Students have their log-in information for both

programs. If your child needs help, Mr. Baker will be available from 8a-10a M-F through google meets. If you can’t make that time, please reach out to him by email/text from 8a-4p M-F. Week 2, Day 5 Skill Fluency-Solve Systems of Equation by Graphing To graph a linear equation, we can use the slope and y-intercept.

1. Locate the y-intercept on the graph and plot the point. 2. From this point, use the slope to find a second point and plot it. 3. Draw the line that connects the two points. (use ruler to extend line if needed).

To solve a system of linear equations by graphing:

1. Graph each equation on the coordinate grid. 2. Plot the point they intercept each other. 3. The coordinates of that point is the solution to the system of equations.
