What is thermal sprayingThermal spraying is an old and well proven method, widely used in the aerospace industry, process industry and offshore.
The method is used for thermal protection, and for protection against wear and tear, corrosion and abrasion.
A product’s life and strength against wear can be greatly improved after spray-ing. Thermal spraying does not lead to interference with/change of the base material’s original structure.
Treatment of new products has become more common to give the product the required qualities without having to reconstruct it entirely from an expensive material.le.

Thermal spraying Manganese phosphating Phosphating
Manganese phosphatingManganese phosphating gives carbon steel products a lighter corrosion protection by converting a thin outer layer.
This outer crystallised coating is porous and should therefore be closed with an oil fi lm or another coating over the crystallised layer. In addition, manganese phosphating provides a lubricated surface with low friction.
PhosphatingPhosphating is a chemical surface treatment of metals
used mostly for protection of steel and iron products.
The method can, however, also be used for zinc,
cadmium and aluminium products.
The phosphating process means sinking products
into, or applying, a solution of iron, zinc or manganese
phosphates with free phosphate acid. The surface gets
a coating of soluble phosphates which adheres to the
material well and stands up to corrosion. It is a good
base for paint and varnishes. The treatment prevent
corrosion beneath the paint or varnish layer if this layer
is damaged.

Xylan® is a family of fl uoropolymer coatings especially developed for use on most equipment and fastenings. Most types of Xylan® contain PTFE or other lubricants, and is applied as a thin fi lm.
Xylan® provides lubrication and therefore even and controlled friction. The coating protects against corrosion, which makes constructions or components easier to take apart for maintenance.
Xylan® is water based and adheres well to aluminium, brass, alloys, carbon steel, rust free steel, titan etc.
Qualities:
Pencil hardness 4-6 H
Electrical insulation level 500V/mil
Friction coeffi cient 0,05-0,10
Film thickness <25µ
