COMPANY PROFILEThe seeds of Shreeyam Power and Steel Industries Ltd., were sawn in the year 2005 in the name of Mid India Power and Steel Industries ltd. The company was commissioned with an annual capacity of 250,000 MTS of steel and 150,000 MT of sponge iron along with power of 60 MW. With a very firm metamorphosis and technological advancements, the company has today created a niche of its own in the industry.
The company largely manufactures structural steel long products including-TMT Bars, BEAMS, ANGLES, CHANNELS and STAINLESS STEEL FLATS. Shreeyam Power and Steel Industries Ltd. immensely caters to various prominent sectors such as
Believing in backward integration and in order to ensure the authenticity and reliability of the raw materials, the company has been in a process of attaining ‘iron ore mining rights’ in Madhya Pradesh. The company plans to expand and build its capacity to 500,000 MT per annum.
SPSIL has set up its second unit at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. It had been re-commissioned in the year 2007 with a setup of 35 MTS of ELECTRIC ARCH FURNACE (EAF). SPSIL manufactures alloy and specialized steel long products meeting the requirements and demands of the automotive and engineering industries. The current capacity of the plant is 110,000 MT per annum.
SPSIL believes in serving the consumers with high quality and reliable products. Its world class technology with a detailed and flawless process, produces high quality ‘NATIONAL’ long steel products. SPSIL products match the national demand with international technologies which are par excellence.

THE TMT PRORESSTEMPCORE
NATIONAL TMT uses reputed international TEMPCORE (CRM-Belgium) process, adopted by most advanced TMT bar manufactures around the world
for manufacturing of the reinforcement bars. This process imparts a higher strength to the products using the latest Thermo Mechanical Treatment
(TMT) / Quenching & Self tempering (QST) and is far superior to the traditional process. Sponge iron is produced in-house from iron Ore in the
latest technology kilns. Billets, which are made from Sponge iron make the basic raw material for the NATIONAL TMT. The billets are cut to
length and charged in to the re-heating furnace of digitally controlled Rolling Mill. The rolling starts with two stands roughing, two stands
intermediate & ten stands continuous mill, which are in sequence. Due to this progressive reduction of the billet, it leads to the final size and
shaped reinforcing bar. The bar produced through this process is then subjected to heat treatment in three successive stages.
In the first stage, quenching starts with the hot rolled bar leaving the final stand and immediately being quenched by a special high Pressure Water
spraying System. The process results in formation of "Martensite" on the outer surface of the bar while core remains austenitic.
QUENCHING
The second stage the bar leaves the water quenching box and is exposed to air. The heat flux from the still hot core reheats the outer surface of the bar. The Martensite formed in the first stage is thus subject to self-tempering giving a structure called "Tempered Martensite" which is strong and tough. The core is still austenitic at this stage.
ATMOSPHERIC COOLING
The third and final stage of "Atmospheric Cooling" takes place on the cooling bed, where the austenitic core is transformed into the ferrite pearlite ductile core. The final structure, thus, consists of a combination of strong outer layer of tempered martensite and a ductile core of ferrite-pearlite

ADVANTAGES OF NATIONAL TMT
Higher Bond Strength:
bars that have an excellent bonding with the concrete.
Superior Weldability: Lower carbon content in the NATIONAL TMT ensures better weldability than the conventional cold twisted bar.
Bending: The tough outer surface and soft core of the NATIONAL TMT, results in a rebar with an excellent bendability. The bar can be bent around the
mandrels that are much smaller than those specified in IS 1786. This results in an enhanced speed at the sites.
Higher Corrosion Resistance Properties: NATIONAL TMT is being produced through TMT , therefore there are no torsional
residual stresses in the bars. This results into a superior corrosion resistance characteristic.
Close Dimensional Tolerance: NATIONAL TMT comes with an optimum section weight which is lower than the nominal.
Superior Seismic Resistance Characteristics: Concrete beams, columns and joints reinforced with the NATIONAL TMT are subjected to a repeated reverse
loading in elastic strains to evaluate the performance, thus they simulate conditions which are similar to earthquake. The bars in these tests have been
proven for maintaining the uniformity and ductility till failure.
NATIONAL TMT incorporates ribs that are cut by the Automatic Rib cutting Machines producing uniform ribs. This results into the
Tempcore (crm Belgium) Process

NATIONAL TMT 500 DTMT Rebars are specified and assessed from the functional point of view over mainly two dimensions- Mechanical Properties and Chemical Properties.
The desired Mechanical Properties such as strength, ductility and bendability are achieved by designing the right chemistry and controlling various
rolling parameters. As a part of the chemistry, any rebar necessarily contains two harmful impurities - Sulphur (S) and Phosphorous (P) in varying
levels, reducing the strength of the steel in the extreme hot and cold conditions. Lowering the contents of these, makes the steel better. According
to the facts and figures, almost 80% of rebars in India are manufactured by crude processes from the scrap with high level of harmful impurities in
the steel. A superior and controlled steel making practice can reduce the impurity level through the routes like- LRF/AOD
(De- Phospherized and De- Sulphurized) processes.

* CORROSION RESISTENCE ELEMENT ( Cu+P+Cr+Ni+Mo)
SELF-TEMPERING
High levels of Phosphorous can lead to “cold shortness” in the steel, in which, the steel tends to become very brittle and vulnerable to cracking under the extreme cold conditions.
On the contrary, the high levels of Sulphur can lead to “Hot Shortness”, in which, the melting point of steel gets lowered in high temperature, reducing its strength dramatically.
National TMT 500 D TMT bars are produced through a fully integrated route using iron ore and processed through the Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF/AOD) resulting in a superior product free from Sulphur and Phosphorous and ensuring consistent properties.
