Midterm ReviewAlgebra 1

What might be some smart review strategies for the next couple of days as we get ready for your midterm?

Your midterm on MONDAY IS WORTH 25% OF YOUR GRADE!

Trashketball I am splitting you into teams of 4.

EVERY PERSON in your group must have a whiteboard and marker. In order for your group to get the chance to shoot, everyone must have all of the correct work and answer on their whiteboard when I count down.

When I count down from 5, everyone in your group must silently hold their whiteboards in the air to be eligible.

After each round, groups that earn a point for having all of the correct work and answers will earn the right to shoot for more points!

The more questions we get through, the better this review is and the more chances your group gets to shoot the ball!

Write an equation then solve: The sum of two consecutive odd integers is 78. Find the integers.

Given y = 4x – 12 , find the range if the domain is

{-3, 0, 1, 4}

Distribute: 8(x – 2)

Solve for a b = 3a – c

Find three consecutive odd integers whose sum is –465.

If the original price of a sweater was $40 and then it got marked down to $36, what was the percent decrease?

Use the distributive property to write an expression that is equivalent to 24x + 6

Sports Authority has a baseball bat that was originally $60 on sale for 15% off. Dick’s Sporting Goods has the same bat. There, it was originally $75 but is 30% off. Which store now offers a better deal for the baseball bat? Show your work and explain your answer.

Write an equation and then solve: 9 is added to the quotient of a

number y and 2. The result is 10. Find the number.

Sharon earns $25 per item she sells plus a base salary of $100 per week. Write and solve an inequality to find how many items she must sell to earn at least $700 per week.

Write an inequality for the graph below:

A student claims that the graph below represents the solution of the inequality 5x – 7 < 13. What error did the student make? What should the graph of the solution be?

A flagpole casts a 32-ft shadow. A boy who is 6 feet tall is standing near the flagpole casting a 16-ft shadow. They form similar triangles. How tall is the flagpole?

Translate and solve: Some number p is either

more than 13, or at most 6.

The speed limit on the road is 55 mph. The police officer is using a radar device to monitor speed. He allows people to exceed the limit by 5 mph or drive under the limit by 10 mph without giving them a ticket.
