1. Edges of carriage way to be cut back by 1000mm with a rotary sawto form a vertical and primed face in accordance with clause 920

2. Where the roadside is to be laid in two layers, the upper layer ofroadbase should be stepped into existing pavement by 1000mm withthe basecourse and wearing course to be each stepped in a further1000mm respectively.
